Yesterday I drove past some graffiti on a wall, that was obviously anti-vaxx in intent, that just said GUINEA PIGS in massive letters (probably not spelled like that), with a crude drawing of a syringe, and it made me think of Brother Bisuits.

My parents left their sense of love and optimism in turkey, so what I got was affection with nothing to bind to me as a person. I am loved for being their son but not loved for being my own individual person within a society they can feel connected to. It's strange thinking about it but I guess its part of the immigrant experience. if I charm some hothoused new york brat will my children also end up like this? Me pining for belonging to London when I'm settled with a family in Brooklyn?

even Leo definitely gets some perverse enjoyment out of dispensing grounded, common-sense advice and analysis in contexts where everyone else is in the midst of some wild, abstract conspiratorial tangent. and it's pretty clear that Version could be an absolute menace if he wanted to, he just always chooses to be the opposite out of a mysterious sense of magnanimity/honor. (well, almost always.)
