Drug Trafficking

While drug gangs have long exploited the coves and inlets of Galicia’s rugged coastline – a “narco-sub” carrying 3,000kg of cocaine ran aground off Pontevedra in 2019 – the latest intelligence suggests a new tack is being taken and that the kind of labs once seen in South American jungles are now being built in Europe.

“The [latest] operation has revealed the existence of a new trend in cocaine trafficking, in which the unprocessed drug is exported to be chemically processed in clandestine laboratories in its destination countries,” police said.

“This allows the criminal organisations to reduce their losses in the event of possible police seizures.”

No-one say ffffffff……aye the game is changing. Has cocaine ever been more popular? Just had a sense of a petroleum like smell flicker up from memory banks

Cost cutting, essentially. Move separate AND mixed batched bales of ready raw and pre-prepped. Thing with trafficking is the occasional news source of a beach walker stumbling across a shipment and placing yourself in their shoes. Didn’t the Azores or Madeira get hit by an unintentional coke deluge?

It makes it easier to move your product within a continent like Europe. People are always probing for logistical weak spots. @version cant recall who posted the Judas Pig interview but you know people with his level of intention, wits, brutality and closed ltd numbers of colleagues can more than run a firm. There’s any number of cliched conceptions when picturing ”organised crime”, which frequently misses the smaller numbered crews who‘ve streamlined their operations down to a grotesque specialty in the art of terror. And yet he’s still small spuds, internationally at least

have to confess it was me who posted the Judas Pig interview...

a couple of years ago I was in the company of a "certified" Moss Side villain who was telling us that the "Columbians" had hired a biologist, a specialist in genetically modified crops, who was working on modifying the coca plant so it could be grown indoors in a "grow room" anywhere - if he was telling the truth and if that ever happened, then it'd be a "game changer" - I'm sure some seeds are easier to transport, etc.,

Spain gives you a way to avoid Dutch ports or even Antwerp. Spain has near constant import/export infrastructure to process South American resources, goods and products. Again, people think Costa del Sexy Beast but it’s less obvious ports too numerous to name, Portugal also

Trafficking is gut busting nuts. The levels of risk to reward. S America to west Africa is another route bloated with vested interest groups

that phrase made me remember "sputnik", some of which had a diesel like odour due to it being smuggled in fuel tanks

there were rumours it was cut with smack to promote sells, but i never saw the sense in that particular urban myth...economics, etc.,

The story of the "narco-sub" mentioned in the first post is wild.

After leaving their Amazon base, the three spent almost a month squeezed into a dark and stinking cabin behind three tonnes of cocaine and 20,000 litres of fuel. Food was energy bars, rice, biscuits and sardines; the toilet a plastic bag.

I wonder if there'll ever be a Peter Tosh style song demanding the legalisation of cocaine?

I'd love to be the one to record it

GTA 5 features a talk radio station where they're talking about the decriminalisation of "medicinal cocaine"

The notion of someone being spiritually righteous about cocaine is comical to me

Perhaps it is seen as sacred in some cultures though, where it grows

I watched a clip from an interview with James Spader the other day where he talks about how he worked in a record shop for some couple in NYC back in the day and they'd spend all the money from the shop on coke and quaaludes and send him out to all the pharmacies with scripts.

Pre-digital record keeping, find the old soak who liked a bit of flesh, query fibromyalgia symptoms “my father had it, I think”, take a pretty female friend and there’s your morphine - Carry On Scoring. Most I did in a day in one city was about 40 all piked from the last of any corrupt gp’s who tried groping a female partner in crime, spare you the rest, oh the rush getting home sitting down with pharmaceutical grade diamorphine’s treats and rituals

An old techno face ran a ketamine line from India with his gf at the time, started about thirty years ago. Flew out, bought litres of it from a round of pharmacies (not Canadian Pharmacy), shipped it back via a regular parcel service, moved on at bulk to France and beyond. Pharmacy to plate in approximately a weekend. Outrageous raise, cons were it eventually destroyed last vestiges of any fun with sound systems

Liquids seemed an easier substance to evade scrutiny pre 9-11 and ketamine’s slow rolling explosion didn’t even seem to generate any stress for those involved beyond the ethics of seeding sleep parties. Every cunt overdoes it occasionally yet the corrosiveness of ketamine can be countered by a definite positive contribution in breaking serious often untreatable clinical depression. It’s hypocritical to look down on a drug, I’m awake from caffeine to push through night shift so it’s the user who decides what they put in their body, even if the choice arises from diverse paradoxical convergences of ethical quandaries. Still, not a drug to get mugged or challenged on and the days of being wiped out in squats or vehicles, with a bat sat next to your bed,, said setup clearly wasnt tight enough to begin with
