service in london is so snobby and nasty. it's like nothing else in the world. often i just get ignored till i have to walk out.

service in new york is outright hostile. it's really striking when you first encounter it. especially in brooklyn. like they hate you. they think you're a cunt. they want you the fuck out of there. but all you've done is gone to the supermarket and bought some things.

'service' in oxfordshire doesn't exist. people just go and get things that you ask them to get. no one would ever think to call it service. it's a practical thing.

it's funny with the arabs. people think they're horrible rapists with fat fingers but a lot i meet are very goofy and self effacing. and they pay really well. i guess there's a spectrum.

you have to meet people before forming a judgement but in the other hand you shouldnt assume that the people you meet are a representative sample.
