Humor as a survival mechanism

Femboyism IS feminism.
Like that episode of the Larry Sanders Show, "Pain = Funny." You've got to be funny like your life depends on it. If it actually does, you've accepted the comedic lifestyle. But do lifestyles evolve?

Humor is a coping strategy, a survival mechanism. We employ humor to deal with external pressures and pains. If our sense of humor evolves, what does that mean? Does studying the history of humor make you funnier? (I hope it does) But humor is incongruity. Humor is funniest when the pieces don't fit. Is not the most incongruous and thus funniest thing the stochastic, random nature of reality?
