I think this is an in-group out-group thing, with the out-group being minorities of various stripes but maybe it's impossible not to have an out-group and that sympathising with the other just flips the polarity making one's default in-group a new out-group. Can anyone here claim that they have no out-group against which they rail?

Do Republicans with broken legs use crutches and wheelchairs or do they crawl around, dragging themselves by their elbows while their good ol' buddies pound their heads in with the heels of their cowboy boots? If Republicans left your health system, which I've heard has some role in helping people with disabilities, the whole country would collapse.

Healthcare in general is unavailable to tens of millions of Americans because they simply can't afford it, or can only access it at the cost of literally ruining themselves. Which of the two main parties is more supportive of this state of affairs, do you think?
