I may have fiddled with this one for too long--it started as an 80min mix of avant and hip-hop+electropop. . . then got all the "songs" removed to an ambient 30min mix. . . and eventually reconstituted into this instrumental but hardly ambient concoction. So it may not add up to anything coherent.

Nevertheless, it's another attempt at what I'm thinking of as "sensory replication"--field recordings from a world of bizarre and unusual sound, hopefully creating an immersive experience via headphones in the dark. It could be too much or too boring, but maybe at the right place and time and for the right listener, it adds up.

thought i would wait til i played it a few more times//

nice concept, and i liked it a lot at 4am last night
seemed to lose coherence about 2/3 way through where one or two tracks seemed to surface from the texture a little too obstrusively
what is the highest number of simultaneous tracks?

I'd guess somewhere around 8-10. Next mix I plan to scale back, do more direct manipulation/remixing/dubbinb rather than just letting things form a soup in more or less their original forms. . .

I go back and forth on a number of sections, and sometimes the whole mix. Not sure if the King Crimson/Funkstorung section works; not sure if Pablo/Tubby just sort of pop in out of nowhere; Not sure if I let the Conrad/Faust go on for too long; not sure if I should use the whole Burial track. . . I did an edit with shorter versions of all these, and it felt a little too hurried.

Thanks for the feedback--definitely a work in progress.

This is fantastic late-night listening, chilling to this now after a real headfuck of a day and it seems to be making some strange kind of sense.

Thanks Jenks, Benny. Hope you liked it all the way through.

Next one is going to be a little more. . . careful? focused? I think.
