Some good, mostly pretty heavy and relatively recent broken tunage:

Solution / Slide feat. Yungun - Son of Scientist - Main Squeeze
Golpe Tuyo Calinda - Afronaught - Bitasweet
Asokere (IG Culture rmx) - Lekan Babola - Lex 51
Make Love to the Boogie - Da Monikeerz - Diggers
Soul Searchin - Flowriders - 4Lux
Yin Yang - Seiji feat Spoonface - Honest Jon's
Carnaval - Afronaught pres. Son de Batey - Naut
Who Are We? - Freeq Unique - Bitasweet
Something Extra - Maddslinky feat Jenna G - Askew
Calle - Blakai - Schtum
Afrospace - Blakai - Schtum
Nightingale - Grinch - Escapism
Bloodfire Vol. II - Daz-I-Kue? - Bloodfire

when it gets too nu-jazzy I reckon it does disappear up its own arsehole a bit, but most of the above is decent enough.

Their production is up to standards but songwriting is not tops.
There is a new guy from Bristol called Zumen who I have a prerelease of (Rolexx).
It is even better than Seiji.

heh - where did you get that from, SweetFred? Do I know you?

Isn't the broken scene a bit up its own arse (aka coop) with an almost "northern soul" attitude ?

It definitely attracts a certain number of people who have that kind of attitude, yes.

well they dont look upon much else with much affection, they seem to regard themselves as the heirs to 70s fusion, soul and soul-jazz, and think of themselves as sophisticated, mature, 'real music' etc etc. sometimes though, the 'classiness' in the music reminds me far more of 80s/90s notions of fusion, so seems a bit tepid and tame.

huh? where do you get this from? I aint heard any broken producer come out talking like this or do you mean from the fans?

im sorry but some of you guys on here just seem to dislike music with a bit of soul rather preferring some pots and pans type tunes.

It's definitely the attitude that some of the fans have. Wouldn't know about the producers.
