Stick to your guns John.
You ARE viciously cynical! A coldhearted sadist.
Yeah, like none of you cunts read Stephen King or Terry Pratchett. The OP is hilarious.

i'm more into King's work as a director these days, he's a much better filmmaker than writer.
Andrews Brain is the one on there that stands out and makes me want to know why cos I didn’t enjoy it and I really like a lot of his stuff.
I've never read conquest of the useless, but I loved walking in ice when I read it 15 years or so ago. Not got time for herzog these days but might give it a go.
Andrew's Brain is the most recent Doctorow I've read and the most humorous read I've had from him. There's a few quotes from there I remember about the left and right side of the brain that had me chuckling. Which are your favourites?
If you've followed Herzog interviews over the years I think a lot of it is the same stuff he's been saying for years.
Have you (or anyone else) read A Guide For The Perplexed by Paul Cronin? I asked my friend who is a documentarist if film school was worth it and he said he had learned more from just reading this.
That and David Mamet's 'On Directing Film' which I read the other day and would warmly recommend to anyone interested in a short path the core of visual storytelling. He's endearingly full of shit and I think we might could spawn an interesting thread from his notion of 'the juxtaposition of unflected shots' being the golden marrow of filmmaking.
Funnily there's a bit in it where he slags off Herzog.
