bassline house

Like we have come full circle finally.
just quoted that for emphasis m8...

it is important to point out that this is the closest we have been to completion of the orbit. in fact, i foresee the up coming year or so will prove the truest measure. if the scene can; not pop too much.. we shall get the opportunity to start the orbit all over again!!

and correct me if in order, but few scenes have been able to realize more than one full cycle without either; simply diminishing. going back underground for self-preservation. or taking the path of the pop.

i think we have generous odds of success and survival here.. seeing as how the only even semi-broadened genre i can think of to boast this would be house. and the term 'house' used alone, is not really even plausible anymore..
but i think this can be likened to house as much or more than anything else(in a good way).

i especially am relishing the notion that so much of this music has been obscured for so long. that when combined with the time delay for which it takes these tunes to land properly even in the likes of say london, or new york. between back logging and new releases, it appears this sound will offer what seems an endless supply of material !

also (continuum), i had another mix ready to up, but no one commented on the last one, lol. (osnapmybad, i forgot the track list, sorry) =(

i haven't been able to find this mysterious bassline stall at leeds market...hmmm

it used to be in the outdoor leeds market, not kirkgate. not been past for 18 months or so though.

for shops- try crash or the one opposite the (new) chinese supermarket- vicar lane, over the headrow iirc. i don't know the name of it.

otherwise go to tribe (beside the corn exchange) and ask

i think that one opposite the chinese supermarket has shut down now...quite a shame. they had massive bargain bins of garage. will try crash tho

wasn't speed garage and uk garage, which bassline is really a variety — it's not anything new in essence at all, and that's not a criticism, it's actually matured really nicely — pure pop music anyway? alternative mainstream style. remember rosie gaines' closer than close, 187 lockdown's gunman etc? if anything i'd like to see bassline get more pop rather than less and take over the world by next summer. i want to hear this stuff bouncing cars in hackney on a sunny day

i'm feeling generous.. and so here is the single best 'free' resource i have found for more current tunes, covering the whole spectrum.
skipping having to spar with your conscience is a bonus too, ya ..

o, and check out the volume of downloads, as well.. ha-pfft.

sometimes
unlikely. more likely is it's gonna be uk/london/funky house...

i've been listening to a station called eruption or something and a guy called dj swirly i think it is - he plays some good stuff in this vein, like grime people making house music, some of it is really good.

Ach!

Turd on the Run
All... so... weird...

So it seems that Wideboys are big in this ting, I guess they're classified as 4x4?
The 4x4 stuff is just fast ukg as far as I can tell, but looking at DJ Q's tracklisting you still have people like Sticky, MJ Cole and Karl Brown making it, as I guess they have been doing in the past five years during which 'traditional' ukg has been out of the limelight. I remember that there was a guy who played on Deja Vu on sunday's in 2004/2005 who was always playing new ukg bits and pieces. In fact...
Tony Hill & Fudge - "It's Real"
is a nice track, especially because it sounds sooo 1998. Mystic Matt also appears as a remixer on this ep, and that's a name I haven't heard from a long time. Anyone remember McMahon promotions....?
The bassline stuff I guess is more bassline-y right? - speed garage dred basses warped and twisted to the max.

As it is tv in Leeds festival:
(This has got some good footage of Benga & Coki's 'Night' being played also)

I love the track at the very beginning, what is it called? Is there any niche vernacular that would describe its amazing bassline?

- ready - set - mayhem ...

gosh i guess this thread no longer needs any help of mine.

way to go, full-crew!

and i been pondering this lately. how amazing and rare is it for a sub-genre/sub-culture to evolve fully through the stages of creation, to peak in popularity.
and finally then to a decent..
and then boast an undeniably strong reemergence...

... "except without ever having actually gone away" ??? ...

not saying that there aren't any. i just cannot personally think of any other examples?

dont things normally actually go away for a while before then being seen as 'retro-worthy'?
