no. it was ages ago. about 1999. i was just thinking what a shame it is that that side of london pirate radio has no historians

It was Jerry Bascombe who used to program Choice who talked about it publicly. There may have been others.

He was still knocking about on soul radio last year I think but I can't get the signal for that anymore.

Trying to get Americans to understand all this is quite difficult really I don't see why you'd bother. Maybe New York

i heard it in real time not in retrospect. i remember them playing the record etc and then announcing theyd been had!

Strong knowledge. I am too young* to actually remember this in real time but I do remember the situation. Seems weird that this all so long ago now

I remember seeing Cliff talking about it on This Morning with Richard and Judy when he was doing publicity for 'Millenium Prayer' so I always link it to that.

I would guess its just because lately I've been hyperanalytic, focused more the likes of biochemistry than on art most broadly. Bit of a strain, like straining a muscle to build it.

The most recent real listening was to a couple versions of Papua New Guinea, and some of the Gurdjieff music. Aside from that, its primarily just turning on the classical radio station here and there, or in the car.

The music I've loved includes Neil Young, the Velvet Underground, what little I've heard of Steve Reich. Musics never been a serious component of my life - yet, at least.
