But Robert Solow may be of interest, in terms of understanding how this argument of tech-driven capitalism has become, implicitly or explicitly, an almost metaphysically teleological theory.

And there are obviously examples of tech development that seem to show no concern for quality of life, or else don that argument in bad faith as Amazon did regarding disability rights.

If I were to make a metaphysical teleological argument for technocapitalism now, it would be in the conceptual vein of negative entropy, of systems becoming more and more efficient in terms of resource management and energy expenditure, reducing largely to the health and nutrition of bioenergetic subsystems like us humans.

Because I know you all were just dying to know!

Utopian anti-capitalism is to be cherished, in a sense, because it is the product of a collective imagination that sees even better possibilities for society, an imagination that is largely the product and consequent of the current state of affairs, it would seem.

you need to start chiselling your arguments apart Stan. you need to start cleaving.

Strikes me as reductio ad absurdum, to reduce technological innovation down to ill intent, but maybe I am missing something.

That's what you were doing though. You picked the two primary tools for doing basically anything in this world and asked for ill intent that didn't fall within favouring either of them.

One way I am chronically foolish is that I keep directing these capitalist apologias into channels of a more or less expilicitly anti-capitalist milieu, which admittedly I do find a bit amusing.

I meant to ask for pro-tech and pro-capital approaches that weren't just ill-intent.

I think, beyond a certain point, intent perhaps becomes irrelevant. An ordinary person setting up a small business to support themselves and because they believe in it is pro-capital and well-intentioned. Once you've got the kind of resources someone trying this top down tech stuff has then it doesn't really matter whether you think you're trying to help as you're forcing yourself on millions of people and other forms of life and you're not infallible enough to have that kind of influence.

Yeah I'd agree with that, that at a certain scale of operations a single person's scope and intention almost invariably fails to account for nth-order consequences of their decisions. And I think we will be suffering from these things more or less indefinitely.

Elon Musk wants everyone driving his electric cars, perhaps because he genuinely believes that would be a good thing, but he's just had to recall hundreds of thousands of them due to potentially lethal faults.
