Crikey! First Steve Irwin now this:

Stingray leaps on boat, stabs man in chest

An 81-year-old man is in critical condition after a bizarre attack by a stingray, which leapt out of the water into a boat and stung him in the chest.

Its poisonous stinger - nearly four centimetres long - lodged close to his heart in an incident similar to the one that killed Australian TV naturalist Steve Irwin last month.

Elephants are on the rampage in Africa and India attacking humans and now sting-rays are on the counter-attack as well... It's times like this that make me feel misanthropic and think we really are the enemy...

asian carp have infested southern US rivers and are making their way towards the great lakes(and canada). They're known to jump out of the water at passing fishing boats. I'd imagine getting thwacked with a 30 pound fish while you're passing by could do some damage
