Does anyone here care about clothes?
Now i'm 31 i'm trying to set out some clothes rules as i don't want to become a slob.
You can't dress like you're in your 20's when you're in your 30s.
Most of these rules are based on things i've always felt, really.
A good jacket is essential, must be smart and practical, and look expensive.
The last few jackets i've had i haven't paid for oddly, including the best one i've ever had a blue adidas bomber type jacket, which got nicked when i was djing once.
I think t shirts are almost always unacceptable as outer wear, they are ugly, scruffy and almost always advertising lifestyle or products, if you need to wear this stuff in your 30's you don't carry enough weight.
Wear a good shirt instead. It's ok to wear a shirt with flowers on it i think, i have a special love of those quite hippyish kaftan style shirts buttoned to the solar plexus, with some subtle flowers or suchlike.
Jeans, with the exception of a few types, jeans are awful, the coca cola of the trouser world. Good trousers are the most difficult thing to find, but you can get away with 3 pairs at one time minimum, so it's worth spending a bit of cash on a nice pair.
Trainers , a good pair of cleanish trainers is very acceptable footwear, never trust anyone that doesn't own a pair, they will turn out to be evil. Make sure you choose well, don't choose a pair 18 year olds wear or you will feel like a prick. If you meet someone who claims they like hip hop and isn't wearing trainers, be wary, it was always obvious from krs one's selection of footwear, including some pastylike shoes on 'ghetto music' that he would fall of badly very quickly. I've never liked shoes and i feel the worst ever shoe is the dm boot, just the ugliest footwear possible.
Try wearing good knitwear instead of a sweatshirt, get a good haircut, aftershave is acceptable but only classic smells.
Expensive clothes are expensive because they are good, especially for men, very cheap clothes make you look cheap, tk max is good for clothes as men don't care about fashion so no one will think you are silly if you wear stuff from last year or whatever, as long as the quality is good.
