de Gea and Utd tee-hee, “work in progress”, “building a squad”, “finding talent and new leaders”, snore, ”playing for careers” more like

well taken goals, one pearler of a strike from Seville, quality fluid football

Didn't see the game... fucking good job, sounds like awful. They gave up two goals in the last five min in the first leg too, up to that point they were cruising 2-0 up thought they had one foot in the next round.

I watched most of second half on my phone. Lot to blame on De Gea but that midfield was fucking shocking, ripped to bits constantly

Another Celtic title

Think we could be a top 6 PL team if the competition was better with more frequent, tighter games where you either push on or lose, or do a Moo-rhino and bus it, or worse pull an Allardyce who if we’re being honest is the definition of a spiv at his very best

I've read recently that it's quite common for basketball players to welcome big football players to their retirement in MLS by sending them a gift of one of their shirts - but when LeBron sent his jersey to Zlatan he autographed it and sent it back

I'd completely forgotten about Torres since he'd retired. He looks like a bodybuilder now.

I think it's normal to instantly forget all players as if they were dead the instant they stop playing - though some come back to life and into the memory if they move into management or punditry.

Can't imagine he's got the same blistering pace...

Have you ever seen any of the Torrente films? About this right-wing cop who supports Atleti... Torres has a cameo in one of them.

Older players reappearing can be dislocating yet fun moments. Vieri was at the Milan game tonight and the closest I could get to naming him was a vague sense of Vvvvvv? Quality left foot remembered all too well

Match programs are another route in to “oh, that cunt”. Got stacks from Dad and uncles through to about ‘92, same with international rugby, might be time to sell

Unless they get Messi again of course...

I can see why they want him back, but I'm not sure how good an idea it is. If he's willing to take a pay cut, plays well with the new squad and they can sell him for a decent amount whenever he decides to leave then it could be worthwhile, but there's a risk he sends the wage bill through the roof when they're trying to get their finances under control whilst destabilising the team.

That being said, the romantic in me would like to see him back at Barca.
