It's mindblowing to me that Lenny kravitz is that rich

I only know those two songs by him and I've forgotten the first one

I guess "I want to get away" was successful enough to buy a dozen mansions
He's sold 40 million albums worldwide

That'll do

Whilst the classic run from 64-75ish is hard to beat, I do think this incarnation of Dylan is also pretty impressive (not that anything is likely to change Lila’s mind.)

i do still love him to death im just saying you cant make arguments for anything outside the classic period. you can't do it. it's illegal. those records are monsterous. once the spirit has left him hes the purest example of an idiot you'll ever find. if anyone doubts this just look at his paintings.
conclusive proof of what a moron he is. mvuent agrees with me. he says it often.
oh this is the same bit u do with joni mitchell where u say blue is her only album worth listening to.... got it

certain artists earn enough cred in my mind that I incline toward thinking that I'm missing something/misinterpreting/not bringing the requisite interpretive schema to bear to unlock the object. rather than assuming the object is bad.
As a purely cerebral man it's impossible for you to discern whether an artifact contains soul-force but for me, as an instinctive man, a natural man, I know as soon as it touches my skin.

that's the beauty of stories like his. it's easy to fall into the trap of thinking you have to be an all-around genius to make a major artistic contribution. it's a disheartening thought that is supported by a lot of biographies. but then you have someone like dylan, someone of very limited intellectual capacity, who nonetheless has powerful intuitions, and creates works that rise to legendary status. ultimately with art, you just need to be capable of making something good, at least once. you don't need to be anything else. inspiring stuff for all us midwits!

id be tempted to say that the vast majority of Important Artists are total idiots. very very rare to pair intellectual capacity, good judgement and common sense with Actual Artistic Ability which as you say requires instinct and inutition and mostly happens at a level below the conscious

someone like Prynne is a massively clever but a lot of people will find his poetry a bit bloodless, lacking a life-spark.
