Maybe all the meddling gets too complicated and counterproductive - you end up funding some terrorist group that turns into your biggest enemy.
Trump is changing the strategy from one that tries to head every problem off at the pass to just dealing with the big ticket problems e.g. Gaza and adopting a defensive posture under a defensive dome the rest of the time.

one thing i have noticed is that all the west africans who were the only people delivering food i think have disappeared since the ICE raids started, ie in the last two weeks, or at least i haven't seen any and they used to be everywhere

I think I've said earlier on here, those with a "hawk-ish" outlook would view this as a mis-step from a supposed world power, and it will relinquish a lot of power bases indirectly. Whether that's the intention or not, who knows, but greasing the wheels is the way a lot of industry goes. I would assume our resident NGO lawyer would be able to confirm one way or another
