one does not oppose religion by laughing at its mythological claims, but grounding said claims in the historical and technological developments of societies.

Religion is a material phenomenon, it is practiced by humans through material activity, even its mythological claims must be undergirded by actual existing substrates.

Because this particular outcome hasn't happened yet. How can you write a guide to something which doesn't exist? You write a guide after you've actually done something.

it has happened, is happening, and will continue to happen on a productive and technological level though. The task is to make it happen politically and liquidate those classes obstructing its full realisation.

imagine: the post-revolutionary transformations (were they to have happened in England and Germany circa 1917) would have transpired relatively painlessly. But the classes holding power and blocking the extant pregnant possibilities were too strong, and resorted to the abortion (as a crude analogy.)

Hence the Russians were faced with the acquisition of political power in a country where the preconditions had not been sufficiently established. But this doesn't mean the russians should have allied with the liberals and cadettes (that's what the mensheviks believed.) Escape your own torments for once and try to think globally, to think internationally.

When American republicans moan about us in Britain living under socialism, they are of course wrong, but in their error they do highlight one fundamental. Nationalisation makes the post-revolutionary socialisation easier.

This really reminds me of Land now, although he'd say people should be liquidated as a species.

yes, and that's why we are at war with him. he understands, (intuitively if you will) more than most bourgeois intellectuals, where we are headed, ww III between America and the new emergent European bloc, although he cannot be fully conscious of it, and inevitably mythologises about transhuman fantasies like your average simpleton.

he is in fact, a case study for the liquidation of his class, which can no longer even have the basic outlines of where it is going because it has no more revolutionary possibilities left, not since the Portuguese were ejected from Africa. Hence his compasses spin like mad and whatever quasi-spiritualistic claptrap is used to augment this intuition that a third world war is coming.

Where does China fit in?

If we paused American and EU economies at their current state then China could probably catch up and inaugurate inter-imperialist war, but this is only a thought experiment and obviously cannot happen in reality.

Is Russia going to end up on the side of the US or Europe?

Short term (US) long term Europe, most probably. It has been trying to do this for quite a while, hence it having quite solid links with new european right wing parties which serve to repolarise the political spectrum to bring a new left into existence. Not to mention Trump. Trump's biggest victory is likely to be el presidente AOC and her boyfriends legs..

By el presidente I don't mean to say I literally think it will be AOC (although at present she looks the most likely.) Just as we will have a turbo corbyn, sooner or later. The archetype is more important than the individuals animating it.

You reckon it'll be a right wing Europe vs a left-liberal America then?

nah, both will undergo a left liberal phase as industries are restructured and exploitation is improved upon (obviously I can't predict this with fine-grained detail) and then probably shift rightwards as war approaches. Or we could have a situation analogous to 1914 where the most extreme left capitalist party votes to join the war. That is certainly very possible, and likely.

This sounds like religion to me. You're talking about communism the way others talk about the rapture.

Any kind of eschatology, be it religious or secular, is pure nonsense, since everything that exists and will ever exist, is based on complete contingency. Eschatologies are for intellectual cowards who want to ground reality back in all sorts of absolutes. And, yeah, you can trace it all back to this guy - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joachim_of_Fiore triadic structure and all.

I hope this forum is still about in 2050.
If you mean that global communism is inevitable by 2050 (or something like that), then I'm sure tons of communists in 1925 thought it was going to happen by 1950.

And I agree with version that it all sounds very much like religious people predicting the coming of the Kingdom of God, or the Mahdi or whatever their equivalent may be.
