I dunno whether it's ever been confirmed, but I see a fair bit of discussion of him choosing the increasingly bizarre outfits his partners wear in public. It's gotten particularly surreal now he's married Kim's doppelganger.

It's clear in the lore that he always dressed Kim. Not sure about the details here, or why he was photographed with his pants down on a boat in venice.

He's apparently been banned by one Venetian boat company for life because of that "wardrobe malfunction". He must have dropped his belt or something as Bianca was kneeling in front of him while she was probably looking for it...

I feel kanyes music stopped shaping trends in the years after yeezus but by having almost single handedly formed the musical imaginary of people my age up to that point he was given his own special goal posts of 'is this music listenable?' for wether it mades waves or not. That song sounds like it could be listenable though so itll be interesting if thats still all it takes for him even though it will probably be six years between this new thing and the last time he released something with any legs

He did spend about as much time in the limelight as Jackson did before the pedophilia accusations came out. Slightly more even. Between the two, I think Kanye comes off a little better, although I guess there's still time for things to get worse.

sorry to say that the song he just dropped is simply bad, all the laziest sonic signatures off "Cruel Summer" mixed in with the worst lyrical tics off Yeezus, somehow stripped of any artful quality or purpose, only the thin gesture at provocation left

updating this thread to say that I think we've finally escaped the man, I couldn't make it through his new album, his grasp on the zeitgeist has finally been subsumed, we're entering an age where pluto is in aquarius and a new mode is ascending

I'm assuming (perhaps wrongly) that when I started this thread in 2013 he was divisive mainly for being an arrogant loudmouth but not yet divisive for saying he loves Hitler

I do find figures like kanye, drake, trump, elon, etc. fascinating because they're rich and famous and still seem to be varying degrees of miserable, desperate for attention, desperate for acceptance, desperate for adulation, and it all plays out more publicly than ever with the internet

Perhaps nowadays we're all more attuned to this stuff because we're all potentially 'famous' (or famous) and exposed to public opinion via the internet, and we can understand the thrill of it and the hollowness of it for ourselves

Kanye embarrassed himself (if he's capable of that) when he tried to insert himself into the drake/kendrick beef and hardly anybody even acknowledged it

So one theory for his latest rant/meltdown on twitter is he can't stand all the attention kendrick is getting, will do/say literally anything to try and get the spotlight back...

And/or he's bipolar and/or an arsehole

they were harbingers of the auto-everything moment that we're in, drake and kanye back in the early 00s. emotional storytelling. there's something different about how they started to narrative their lives as opposed to prior rap. it's closer to alt country singer-songwriters
