Inspired by Gabriel I also pulled together a hefty pile of d 'n' b, big beat and random other bits.
The d 'n' b was a mixed bag of late 90s stuff including a few pieces (RAM Trilogy etc) which are going for 50p on discogs. It was all in pretty great condition.
It filled my record bag, I didn't count how many pieces it was. It was heavy.
I went to MVE. My reasons for this were rational and irrational.
Rationally I went hoping for an ok deal, with an exchange rate I could then fritter away over the coming months. I'm not convinced that other shops will either have things I want over the coming months, or even survive that long.
Irationally I guess they are the place which I've sold stuff to most in the past, usually with OK or better than I expected results, except when I've been selling absolute dross.
Inevitably the guy I dealt with was grumpy, but he did know his shit. They asked me what the stuff was and then got the person who knew his shit to deal with me. This is a good thing.
He offered me 65 quid cash or double that (£130) for exchange. I took the exchange and we pretty pleased by it.
I'm sure the exchange rate allows them to deflate their cash rate, but I'm not bothered really because I am happy to keep buying vinyl from them.
