The UK is the worst death toll in Europe and has had possibly the worst response of any country in the world, 10s of thousands of needless deaths, pathetically ineffective, malign or absent leadership and virtually no effective opposition.
Im pretty sure if Corbyn was leader right now and was as invisible and ineffective as Starmer has been during this then he'd be (rightly) getting pilloried for it.
If Corbyn had embarrassed Johnson once, a fraction as much as Starmer has done at the last two PMQs, I would take my (photoshopped by the BBC) hat off to him. He put him on the spot and used detail to show him up as a useless bluffer. You can argue as to whether PMQs matters at all, but they were strong performances. I hope that these will go on to be the foundation of more forceful and enduring attacks, but they're not a bad start.
