I’ve been listening to those Jerry/Merl Saunders shows from 72/73 - the band are something else and those long expansive blues/jazz grooves are mesmeric. Their versions of Second That Emotion stand out in particular.
Merl Saunders sets have so much to offer the ears. My fridge has a list of show soundboards (Betty Cantor-Jackson thank you!) with dates to remember due to being headshot. Second That Emotion is home run material throughout the early 70's into Legion of Mary and later JGB line-ups. Outstanding renditions, dare i say stonking.
