i get it terribly if doing it by myself, but i've found a likeminded friend and we keep each other nerves down really well as we don't wind into blaming ourselves as we both reassure each other. and if you make a really bad mix then you just let your mate take over for a few changes because if you get into a hole it's hard to get out of...

just got back from a gig tonight... went pretty well -- fairly confident in the current set -- algerian and morrocan Rai, egyptian pop, bhangra, reggae. easy come, easy go. no jitterbugs, girls giggling and dancing.

booze works best. pre-show weed makes me a nevous godamn wreck. post-show weed is delightful.

benzos make me a bit tooo relaxed...i don't babysit my mixes very well, or i'll get overconfident and try slam square pegs into round holes.

benzos work better for playing live stuff; perhaps its cause i've internalized my own tracks a lot better than a library of other peoples shit.
