 a rant:

herein lies, horrible spelling and random thoughts from experience to do with what i call, the stages of christ worship by Jaie Miller, or

Hi I'm Jaie Miller, you may recognise me from other uncontrollable rants such as global warming, what the fuck??!! & please help, I'm a little insane.

Classic unfinished material. Read on!! :D

this is, first of all about me. but it will be written as though i am advising a young fanatic, as i find there are many.....

the chances are, you've been to church before. possibly while younger. the chances are that while you were in church you were very bored, probably wondering, what it was all about. slightly confused and uncomfortable. you recognized a phoniness in the whole situation. the discussions afterward. the weirdness. the awkwardness in it all. the longness. the droning. and you thoughts would often wonder. perhaps you were taken against your will, and made to obey. often punished for mildly acting out of character. but still the message was clear. Jesus. love. faith. Saviour. redemption. state of the world etc. only hope. only option. Jesus..........................this is a part of your mind, if asked , yeah, i know church, jesus, hes our Saviour, our messiah, no questions asked, really, it's as simple as something you've never been without.

then perhaps you stop going as a family. who knows why. but there happens to be a break. your grandparents move away. it rained uncontrollably and the world flooded, whatever.

you don't really talk about Jesus much in school or to your friends, because, who does? you talk about girls, sex, smoking, TV, music, etc but this is where you meet your Jewish friend, your Muslim friend, your Hindu friend, all these different people and you wonder, well , you take the piss out of some of em' cause they don't really understand their rituals as much as you do. and you would NEVER EVER EVER even think anything bad about Jesus, say it believe it or ANYTHING, you wouldn't dare. because god has those powers where he can read your mind and you will be punished in the eternal hell fire, as promised.......

this is your life...jesus is not your passion, but you know him well, you know he died for you what he went through for you and he still has powers over you, but your a kid still and you are learning and growing........what you do however is recognize the bullshit of religion....the many many religions.

then something strange happens, something weird.

the thing is, you've always recognized yourself as something special, you've always recognized your position as a blessed person, your upbringing, your intelligence, your talent, ( you are a mediocre singer ) this you attribute to the divine, yes, Jesus has blessed your house, you are a blessed (virgin/creation) of the lord and our Saviour Jesus Christ, perhaps this is the accumulation of messages that have been spoken to you throughout your life...you are now willing to argue with people about the Christ and his place you recognize as not right...there is much controversy about the lord, and Christ, many discussions and you listen attentively nd are willing to give your opinion....the thing you realize at this point, following your belief is that the church, doesn't have all too much to do with Jesus, at this stage of your Christ worship you think that the church has it wrong and that they do not truly represent the teachings of Christ, if they did, they would wield their power and make the changes necessary,,,hey, Jesus was a rebel, to hell with the conformity of the church,,you recognize=e the people who supposedly killed Jesus to actually be profiting from his life and this not only increases your faith in Jesus, but also turns you away from the church and makes you somewhat a rebel.....you find a cult, a smaller section of Christ whereby they admit that some of the things in the world are fucked up and they are willing to state some of the causes of this....this cult portrays you as someone who is chosen and someone who Christ himself has predicted coming to this earth, he says that your brothers and sisters are out there and that they will be hard to find....this is when the particular teaching of Jesus where he says that, you are to love him more than your mother and father, you are to love the Christ as the epitome of love and your own brother will turn against you, you must hate your mother in some cases.....you are anti political as, it is said, that , Satan is the ruler of the world etc, you also role with a little friend and you two talk passionately about Jesus, there is even a little competition about Jesus and you both try to raise the holy spirit, you are now passionate about the Christ, you very much hate Hollywood, because they contain anti Jesus messages and Satan is working to get you, Satan has a very active role in the world and he is the deceiver, he has deceived your mother and father, and he is brainwashing the planet against the true christ..you hate the pope, for being fake, clearly the real Jesus would be against the gold and the money, clearly...what you want you family to do is sell everything, this is what Jesus would have wanted, this is what he commanded, Jesus at this point, can send angels down to earth to do all kinds of things and in the battle of Armageddon, he will be a sword to bring order and peace to the world...strange, things are still messed up, people still poor, people still dying, but you feel the holy spirit and you accept you position as a prophet and a messenger of Christ, whatever..the anti Christ is coming....pause..........

things get hectic, the messages from your source speak of the second coming, any day now and you want to believe your Jesus ness and the friend is there and its all a bit much, you drop out of college, you're ready to sell your possessions but realize they aren't worth shit and no one wants them, you lay away talking to Jesus about how no one understands and you realize he was a normal man and all the things that happen in his name are false, you argues at the dinner table, there is a problem...people have to tell you to calm down....que mental break, you loose it, Jesus is speaking to you, and you loose control, spend some time with a ward and therapist after an outburst...the climax, how hilarious....

http://youtube.com/watch?v=jI1dyayL2uc

the devil has taken time to speak to you and informed you that it was all an elaborate hoax to get you to go crazy and it works, you spend six days fighting demons, you love for Christ has driven you to the edge..............things will never be the same

you may have been introduced to aspects of conspiracy and such at the time before this........

but, you bounce back and you embrace spirituality wholeheartedly, the Krishna's the Buddhas the ganishes, the Shiva's, all of it, spirituality after all is important to you....

OK fast forward here because here we are, things are all thrown into one, Christ = alien from space, spaceship man, semi enlightened one, made from a test tube, you are fully able to take this piss out of Christ, its no big deal, you've lost the edge and you would never be so serious about him again. theory's that exist about christ.....he didn't exist, he is the celestial aspects of the zodiac, it is symbolic, he is gay, the was Atlantis, never existed etc.......the church is defiantly brainwashing the masses, and enslaving them , the world is confused etc.....

this is what i say to all young fanatics out there...i can see the stages.

you find a cult, a smaller section of Christ whereby they admit that some of the things in the world are fucked up and they are willing to state some of the causes of this....this cult portrays you as someone who is chosen and someone who Christ himself has predicted coming to this earth, he says that your brothers and sisters are out there and that they will be hard to find....this is when the particular teaching of Jesus where he says that, you are to love him more than your mother and father, you are to love the Christ as the epitome of love and your own brother will turn against you, you must hate your mother in some cases.....you are anti political as, it is said, that , Satan is the ruler of the world etc, you also role with a little friend and you two talk passionately about Jesus, there is even a little competition about Jesus and you both try to raise the holy spirit, you are now passionate about the Christ, you very much hate Hollywood, because they contain anti Jesus messages and Satan is working to get you, Satan has a very active role in the world and he is the deceiver, he has deceived your mother and father, and he is brainwashing the planet against the true christ..you hate the pope, for being fake, clearly the real Jesus would be against the gold and the money, clearly...what you want you family to do is sell everything, this is what Jesus would have wanted, this is what he commanded, Jesus at this point, can send angels down to earth to do all kinds of things and in the battle of Armageddon, he will be a sword to bring order and peace to the world...strange, things are still messed up, people still poor, people still dying, but you feel the holy spirit and you accept you position as a prophet and a messenger of Christ, whatever..the anti Christ is coming....pause..........
So, you were in a cult? What did that involve? I've heard a bit about fanatical christian sects that target young people, particularly on university campuses. I'd be interested to hear about this if you don't mind talking about it.

mms

sometimes
my mums friends kids were sucked into a christian cult in their late teens - i used to go carol singing around the local hospital at christmas with the school choir when i was about 12 and i saw the mother in there with her two daughters who'd both gone thru some pretty malevolent mental illness because of it.

You know it's weird, these fundamentalist 'back to basics'-type Christian cults seem to me to embody the real spirit of Christianity - the stuff Jesus is supposed to have said to his disciples in the Gospels - much better than any of the established churches. Therein, I suppose, lies the appeal by which they recruit people disillusioned with mainstream Christianity but unwilling to throw in the towel and reject religion altogether.

At least, that's the impression I get. And it's what you seem to be saying it felt like, is that right Jaie?

Edit: happy Easter, y'all! ;)

I'm laughing because people read it and responded.

Let's see...While I was at college, there was a book going around called surviors. People we're handing it out on the high street. Strange people. I had heard about it through a friend. This was shortly after I had been introduced to a tape that contained a muslim man speaking about the world, the media, it said that maddonna was evil , using reverse messages to worship satan and this was a great turning point in my life, it turned me paraniod and i believed every word except at the end when it spoke of Allah's army nd stuff coming to kill the west, i thought that was a bit fanatic. It was an important tape that was going around and probably still is, I'd say stage one to becoming a suicide bomber. So after this, I thought I had gained some knowledge, it playd upon the classic, your parents do not even know this stuff, and it always got repressed during conversation. Me and my friend would often discuss the information, and then came the book!!!!

The book was basically this Australian man saying he had numerically decoded the bible to create a story wherein the end of the world was predicted. Involving the mark of the beast. Jerusalem, temples, America being attacked by Russia, It was highly symbollic saying that America was the eagle and russia the bear, and in some part of daniel there was a statue of the world from the babylonians to the persians to the romans to the west now in power. It said that there would be a few people, the survivours, who are true and i stress the TRUE worshippers of christ, and that the rest of the christian faith is horribly missled to worship Satan. The overall main point was on the mark of the beast or the verichip microchip that exists, saying that the microchip would be put on millions around the world and they would be doomed to worship the anti christ. I was SO into it!! SO into it..A brainwashed follower thinking i was free. It streesed the need to sell everything and ideally go and live with them in Austrailia, or find the base in the UK or whatever. The two main characters were the two witnesses who were invinsible and that is who i thought i was and my friend the other, due to our incredible faith in Christ. The real christ, not the controlled christ that people were using. So there were to be incredible events, a period of peace lasting 3.5 years and a period of turmoil lasting another 3.5 year, this leans towards many 2012 prophesies that exist out there as well. I find it's all connected. So at the time we bagen being more and more outspoken and this lead to trouble in the household, of course no one understood and everyone was crazy. At around this time i was introduced to david Icke who complimented the book well. I dropped out of College, this is the exact time that the passion of the christ was out. Another movie to misslead to the truth about christ. I had a mental breakdown. and was put in a ward for sometime although thankfully not sectiond after trying to commit suicde, because well the world was going to end and i was chosen and no one understood, the world was an illusion and so death was no big deal, i was hearing voices of David Icke and all this crazy stuff, taking mushrooms and being outspoken etc...

erm......It is much more brainwashing than you may or may not imagine. The cult stayed with me for a long time and a while back i was certain the world was going to end and was following the tradition of Jesus and was ready to run away from home, bag packed etc just didnt get on the bus, CRAZY STUFF.....so I would say that it is powerful stuff. I'm trying.

Mr Tea. Absolutly, the idea of the pope with all his gold and such was such a disgust. With the true teachings of christ being so anti materialistic. I was brought up as a Jehova's witness and so this end of the world thing was more important to me that I even understood. I belive(d) something to do with subliminals, and I was probably put to sleep as a youngster and told all kinds of things in those bible study groups, who knows what they were doing and are doing so I hear to children. But yes, that is the opener, the catholic religion being bad and not tru so the cults and things tell you, they are true, but probably just as bad, or not bad, depending.

It helps me greatly to speak about it. It's all there at the top of my head, and I could go on!!

Again the spellings, I'm sorry. So the tape and the book, and the conspiracies.

I've been reading books lately set in the late 17th/early 18th century, and a number of the characters are puritans of one stripe or another - now I've never exactly seen the appeal of the puritan worldview or lifestyle :))) but for the most part they come across as a pretty decent lot when compared to the foppish aristos in England and (worse still) the vile 'Papists'! Funny, also, how they viewed the nominally Protestant Church of England as 'Catholic in all but name', since it maintained the old systems of privilege and power that these people were so dead set against. In a sense you could almost call them anarchists, I suppose.

But as for what put the 'Pure' in 'Puritan' - something you should never underestimate is the seductive power of any ideology that attributes to itself the quality of 'purity': see Nazism, Communism, the Spanish Inquisition, Islamic fundamentalism, any number of wacky modern-day cults, weirdo straight-edge militant vegans, Scientologists with their anti-drug schtick, healthy-eating fanatics, basically extremist politics, religion and lifestyles passim.

Also - and no offfence is intended by this, you understand - I love the idea of someone going nuts and hearing the voice of David Icke in their head. It's like madness squared, or something.

I remember my mum telling me the story so ah asked her again at dinner last night and she told me:

My next door neighbors niece got involved in an african cult some time ago while she was at college, is where they found her. So they managed to convince her that her parents didn't care for her and that people hated her. And that she should go to africa with them to be a virgin sacrafice *holds up hands* no lie!! she had her passport ready. I dont know over what period of time this was but , she was ready to leave. The was an incident at the house where they were there and wouldn't leave, so they called the law, and it was a big deal with nuff feds an ting.

So they tied it all in with the torso that was found in the thames if you remember.

Something tells me that these people should be attacked.

She spent some time in mental places, in hackney after that.

Shit, yeah, I do. That's pretty screwed up - I mean, they must have either put some pretty serious voodoo on her to make willing to be sacrficed (!), either that or she was very vulnerable in the first place and they picked up on that and chose her as a result.

Something tells me that these people should be attacked.
You mean legally, I presume? I'm sure the Met have a special unit for this sort of thing, although they have to be sensitive about how they conduct investigations, for obvious reasons.

I would assume so yes. Percescution plays into their hands and justifies them to their followers etc..it's is one of the promises.

I'm not sure how aware she was of the plan to sacrafice or if they were capable of it, but it was thrown in there at some point.

voodoo indeed!

The implication of your post being, of course, that the moderators of this board = "some cunt."

Classy post, tht.

For the record, I couldn't disagree with you more. There are few folks on the web more reasonable than the mods of this forum, nomos and mr eden especially, to judge by the recent activity on the board and the clarity with which the mods explained their actions.

Only if you ignore the meaning of the word "anarchy," surely!

I don't see how a group of people who wants to substitute one absolute hierarchy for another is anarchist. They were against the aristocracy but that doesn't mean they were for equality. Teaching elders, ruling elders, deacons and theologians all had a great amount of power. They banned music and much art from their churches and ceremonies.

now the Quakers might be a bit closer to anarchists since they also have tenets of faith that mandate equality before god, but lived it out a lot more in the church itself and in society...

Yeah, Quakers is probably closer to what I meant - in the book there's a fictional (I think) sect or society called the Barkers who are closely modelled on the Quakers. I meant 'anarchist' in the sense that they take to an extreme the Protestant idea that anyone can talk to God any time they want to, that church ministers are no better or holier than anyone else and that the entire community preaches, so there seems to be virtually no distinction between clergy and laiety.

Obviously Cromwell's reign was autocratic, pretty much the polar opposite of anarchy. The books I was talking about (Neal Stephenson's 'Baroque cycle') are set in the decades following the Restoration.

sumtin like that

are jehovah's witnesses a cult? maybe sect would be more appropriate, to an outsider it looks like they are parsing judaeochristian theology rather than actively substituting it with their own content or ur-god, and they don't seem to have charismatic powerful earthly godlike figures like those american freak cults

also there's quite a lot of them

Being lowered (as opposed to being raised) a JW means no birthdays and no christmas.

Perhaps also an unhealthy belief in the END OF THE WORLD!!
