    zomby - where were u in 92?

come on you lot. this deserves it's own thread. it's amazing. was listening to it on Sunday night and my jaw dropped at every turn. I'm so glad it's mixed too - with the rave horns between tracks! brief description of it how it sounds here- i know some of you have heard it though...

Gang Gang Dance - God's Money

yeah. the temptation to just fuck off the fact it was only 8pm and neck a load of pills was definitely present, but it was still amazing sober. can't gigs be like that every bloody week?

Byrne & Eno - Everything That Happens Will Happen Today

k-punk's review was interesting. i thought the single, 'strange overtones', was quite nice, but an album of it would kill me.

    Funky/London/UK House

sorry- we're doing quite a lot of changes on it so it's been down more than usual. hopefully will be worth it in the end- there's a lot of really good content on there right now too (gang gang dance interview, eno interview, quiet village exclusive disco mix...)

    Hipsters: Scourge or Irrelevence

anyway, isn't it basically only prancehall who ever writes about grime in vice, and he's said before that nobody at vice care about it, they just like his writing? i've got nothing against vice, but if it's only one person in the magazine's uk edition pushing grime then they're not really...

    Hipsters: Scourge or Irrelevence

i doubt it was deliberate, but someone showed me that piece and it was basically what i wrote for woofah but with a tenth of the words. sad face.

    Late nineties hiphop recommendations

yes! that album is great. busta's videos from that period were mental- the 'got you all in check' remix with odb especially. that Big L one reminds me- 'Da Graveyard' with like half of DITC and Jay-Z was amazing.

    Late nineties hiphop recommendations

Spent the other night having a proper nostalgia fest on youtube over this stuff- it's still my favourite period of hiphop ever. all the ruff ryders/roc-a-fella/no limit etc posse cuts remixes were something else, especially to a 13 yr old kid who'd just discovered nwa in 98 or whatever...

    Beards - are they evil?

i really admire gary glitter's beard. it's like he's picked the most sinister, paedo-ish one he could find:
