cassette swap

must admit I sent mine out a day late...but I haven't got my one yet! tho it sounds like I shouldn't be worried what with all these tardiness confessions....If I'd known we'd all be slack I woulda spent longer on the cover, cos I didn't do anything exciting at all (shame). also think the group...

    Chapman Brothers at White Cube

as ex-warwick person, tho not CCRU (ask k-punk 'bout that), know at least that chapmans are mates of Keith Ansell-Pearson (interests - Nietzsche, Bergson, biology, Bowie) - and thought that Meatphysics from the glance of it was a cut-up version of some of his stuff, tho perhaps not exclusively...

what time are we meeting tonight

they did, didn't they? I thought everyone was really amazingly lovely, especially luka and sufi. not Martin tho, he's just a no-good hound who deserved the bus-beating he received. But don't be scared of me stelfox...I would have only tried to give you a chinese burn or summat...

what time are we meeting tonight

the soda siphon one is good - a real spit n sawdust western feel to it. and In Norwich too.... Before I very quickly gave up, I once crashed a car into a pub wall, which was a bit embarrassing, especially as I'd also just uprooted a 30-ft high lampost just outisde as well. But they didn't bar me!

what time are we meeting tonight

mein gott! what did you do? (actually don't answer that)...that is demented. Of all the pubs in London indeed (or maybe there are more...?!) I used to wonder what it took to get barred from pubs, but it's just boring stuff like being rude to barstaff isn't it? (not that I ever have been...

    Books to Burn

Excellent! now the 'art, literature and film' section has become the 'degenerate art, farenheit 451 and I'm-reaching-for-my-gun' section.... Nevertheless, in the hypothetical interests of the species, and future generations thereof, I suggest we burn: Elizabeth Wurtzel's Prozac Nation Agree...

time 100 best novels from 1923 to the present

There is no way on hell, Earth or any other fictional or really existing place that Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret by Judy Blume should be in the top 100 best English-language novels...first 100 to burn, possibly...

    MIA's Honda Advert!

. This is what I was wondering... I'm a wolf now, am I?! Blimey... There just seems a lot of slightly inexplicable resentment towards this woman for doing things that hardly make her unique: declaiming in a revolutionary style, mixing up genres in a populist way, selling her songs for...

    MIA's Honda Advert!

yeah, what I meant was it seems like there's also a bit of good ol' fashioned lady-disliking going on ...just the whole virulence of the antagonism towards her... I also assumed the 'mud hut people' thing couldn't be as dubious as it sounded...is it?

    MIA's Honda Advert!

yeah, what's that about? hard not to think there's a bit of misogyny at work in this whole MIA-hate thing...

    best building in london?

isokon pics these are taken during the open house weekend (tho was the building really open to the public, no it bloody wasn't!). I tried to capture the swimming pool-like aspects of the thing, and after martin's comments I'm hoping it looks a bit like what the people on top of the buildings in...

Pr0n - what is it good for?

Am totally impressed that this thread has managed to refer to Baudrillard, Zizek, Badiou and Agamben on porn - and no smutty comments either - it's like the Enlightenment or something! Reckon Agamben might be a little optimistic in the idea that folk dressing up in class markers and screwing...

    best building in london?

I'm quite possibly the only person I know to like the dome (yes, I know it's not really a dome, I know its built on a festering swamp, I know it's a monument to all that was and is rotten about old-tory/nu-labour). Wish it had been made of PVC as was originally planned, rather than teflon tho...

    those hairshirt -wearin' Dissensians

Sorry to go back to a now old point on this thread - had I had time yesterday I would have gotten in there before...am obv in no real position to comment on music in the same way as k-punk, blissblogger, er, probably anyone else on this board, but I'm just not getting these pleasure/enjoyment...

    those hairshirt -wearin' Dissensians

why on earth would she want to? Does anyone really pass themselves off as someone else in this banal identity-swapping kind of way? I'd have thought if the internet was famous/useful for anything it would be for not really being any 'one' thing - transferring crap unified self stuff into a...
