i fully accept your point re "dnt sit" in jackin,' but we often put soundcloud clips the week before a release. "new" is a perception producers can control :)

this is a classic Dissensian post-rationalisation. Tracks on that site could have been made 2 years ago, you have no idea. "new" is a perception controlled by the producers and how much exposure they choose to give a track. (example: I put out "High Road" last week, everyone said it was "made in...

yeah you're right, and i'm musically influenced by US music obviously, but from a DJ point of view there's a difference between just playing US music and taking proper hold of it, taking influence from it and inserting those ideas deep into the styles played here. this is obviously how UK garage...

I wouldn't expect you to like Beneath Benny, it's not vocally or girly enough. Don't beat yourself up trying to.

Well, this issue is highly subjective i guess and i come from the viewpoint of a) being a very big oneman fan and 2) having quite firm views about what i want out of DJs I rate as much as oneman. i wrote my initial point quickly as i knew this would be a longer discussion. what i like about the...

Nostaligia is fine, but what I ask - daily - is what made those times good and how can the essence of that find its own new life/space/energy/identity in 2012. Because it sure won't be "dungeon".

i dont really get the rap stuff he's playing. same old nuum problem with repping for US music: how do you really engage with something that distant and popular, as a DJ/curator.
