    Detroit - the myth

By nye 99 it was very interesting to hear what techno djs played from the decade. I was at a David Holmes - Andrew Weatherall ' techno sets' night and it was dominated by stuff up until about '96... Stuff like Lyot remix. It was actually difficult to spot anything from later in the decade. I...

    Detroit - the myth

Blueprint Surface Meta all kept things interesting in that late 90s period as Beyer and those guys slowly seemed to lose the plot and Drum Code became more and more identikit and then weirdly more and more popular.

    Detroit - the myth

Great links in this thread, ta. There were so many gems in those vinyl exchanges in London, especially in the bins and e.g. that basement in the Soho one. This always makes me think of Freebird in Dublin where there was always a stack of Mark Ambrose/Crayon records on the counter for 50 p each...

    shitting on their own legend

Orbital - I lived the Myth of their Brown Album set by listening to it endlessly on tape. When I finally got to see them on the Snivilization tour it still felt real, they still seemed to be channelling rather than revisiting themselves and that still felt accurate up to In Sides but the bottom...

    shitting on their own legend

Cool i can only imagine. It's crazy how great he is behind the decks ...always a journey and never saw him play even sub-par. A good friend warmed (s) up for him when he plays Belfast - always said he was a total gent. Obviously these are still allegations, re his music - only Drexciya imo can...

    shitting on their own legend

Mad first post BUT Derrick May: this is a different kind of tarnishing unfortunately? i've always adored his music and his dj ing. The silence around the claims made against him and specifically out of Detroit...It makes one think of Polanski doesn't it? Also e.g. on Discogs - no one is saying...
