has anyone heard the surgeon mix from '98 in tresor? don't think it was ever released but loads of my mates have it so it must be fairly common on the file sharing programs... anyone,one of my favourite pieces of music of all time,he bashes out really hard techno but there's all sorts of layers...

i think the use of music in twin peaks the series and particularly fire walk with me is astounding,the way the theme is varied to trigger all sorts of responses becomes more appearent as the series goes on...aside from badamatelli's score the use of sound is really impressive as...

i would have thought most mixes (as played in clubs or at parites)were by definition ephemeral,one of the things ive always liked about them... occasionally one gets recorded somewhere,but this still usually just feels like a glimpse of what the music was like at the time... i've the odd tape...

actually not sure if a requiem requires a particular structure to be described as such,or its just the thought that counts... if its any piece of music in memory of someone,them arvo part's cantus in memory of benjamen britten would be my favourite... i'm sure a requiem probably has a more...

the only one i can think of that i've heard is mozart's,which i love... ive probably heard loads of others but unless ive bought a piece of classical music i rarely know the title... must pick up the faure one so,always looking out for classical recommendations...

its interesting how many people on this thread sound like they want to like the magazine more than they actually do,or buy it without knowing a lot of the music that they cover... i want to like the wire,i'm in favour of a magazine that's based on the idea of covering music you don't hear...
