    what are you reading now?

I ended up reading Patrick White's Eye of the Storm on holiday amongst other things. Brilliantly written but it seems to have dated terribly IMO, the portrayal of the women came off patronizing/sexist and the social mores and rules so far removed from now to be almost unrelatable to. Never...

Just got into Juvenile's 400 Degreez which I'm loving - bit weirder and maybe less thugged out than expected - is his other stuff worth checking, and other Cash Money stuff of the same era?

Where should I eat in London?

Yeah there seems to be quite a few nice places that have killer weekday deals, to get some people through the door I guess. The Drapers Arms (nearby) and Hereford Rd both have great weektime lunch deals also.

Where should I eat in London?

Oh yeah does anyone work near Higbury Corner? Cos Trullo are doing a weektime lunch deal of £12 for a starter (or pudding) and a primi (pasta, rissoto etc) which is great as those two things are usually 8 or 9 quid each and the food is excellent. Their beef shin ragu is serious.

Where should I eat in London?

I've been here too! Went to an Iranian supper club on a massive come down. The food was nearly two hours late but very nice - they showed the England Vs Italy game on the cinema whilst we waited for the food so it worked out pretty well. Pretty cheap prices, I think they are trying to attract...

Someone should do a chronological series of photos from last decade of grime charting the changed in clothing fashions, that could be very interesting.

This chilli pickles is delicious..use sparingly as it's composed of 70% naga chillies. I got a jar for 2 quid in whitechapel.

    what are you reading now?

I read the first chapter last night and realised I wasn't ever going to get to the end of the book (tho it was wicked I agree). I started reading some sci-fi instead, think I'll take Middlemarch on holiday next week, plus the Third Policeman.

Pointless But It Does My Head In

I got ID-ed for buying a magnetic knife rack because it was in the knife cabinet! When I pointed out that it wasn't a knife they guy just repeated it blankly and got the manager. Totally insane.

    what are you reading now?

I'm going on holiday soon and want to take something challenging I won't get the time to read at home. I've got Solzhenitsyn's' The Gulag Archipelago and Middlemarch on my shelf. Does anyone have any experience of these? Gulag is scary long as the first book is actually only parts 1-2 of 7...
