    woebot's djing post

I think DJing is misunderstood still. Bands are - through no sense of logic or reason (this is common theme running through everything in our current times) - automatically better. DJing is seen as lazy and easy. The cult of the Super Star DJ fucked things up big time as far as image...

    Ruff Sqwad

Hasn't been the right time yet imo. Commercial, broad success can take many years to achieve. Hip Hop and Jungle/DnB are good examples of this. There are a million factors affecting this from the popularity of other genre's to the general mindstate of the record buying public.

Bassman is Shadowdemon. Not sure of others - Trigga, Lenni and other Birmingham MCs I think. No idea about Skepta. Juiceman also performed with them fairly often.

    Favourite Jungle MCs

There is one on that golden era jungle site that is very good. If you can't find it will upload at the weekend along with the Ron set.

    Favourite Jungle MCs

Yeah that is the same Juiceman. I remember going to a night where he was MCing back in 94/95 with some friends. We turned up and no one was there yet so just chilled at a table and had a drink. After a little while Juiceman walked in with about 3 nutcase looking younger lads and proceeded...

    Favourite Jungle MCs

General Levy got slated because he claimed in an interview (for I think Mixmag) that he invented Jungle.. Favourite Jungle MCs for me are Navigator, Moose and Five-O. Have got an excellent DJ Ron tape from Roast at the Astoria in 94/95 with them on which I'll upload when I get a chance...

    Rinse FM Sets

The Rinse podcast seems to be getting slowly better. They have a couple of shows from the day before yesterday up there for download at the moment. You may find the Youngsta/Task show available tomorrow if they are running a day behind on the uploads. In the mean time the Newham Generals show...

GRIME- breaking news, gossip, slander, lies etc

The 'Sidewinder' instrumental I thought was gonna be the start of making tracks more complex structurally but not sure if many have followed that lead. Think I remember people on RWD saying that track was an amalgamation of exisiting singular ideas. Not 100% sure who produced it - Wiley or...

    Public Enemy- Greatest band ever!

I've only really heard It Takes A Nation Of Millions. A friend of mine and myself put together the first of issue of a fanzine while listening to it. Excellent motivation music for that sort of thing. Agree about the influence on hardcore. Listening to PE really reminds me of the early 90's...

GRIME- breaking news, gossip, slander, lies etc

Just seen this on the RWD website, looks interesting and only £6.99 from HMV: http://www.rwdmag.com/articles/5707.html Resist Records have cunningly put all our favourite music on one album. Dubstep, Grime and Bass does exactly what it says on the tin and some! If you’re a serious dub...

GRIME- breaking news, gossip, slander, lies etc

Ok, that hook is redundant to most of us. But alot of people need pointing out the obvious clearly and simply nowadays. Alot of people are confused and fucked up out of their minds and looking for answers in all the wrong places. Wiley has the answer to their problem throughout all of his...

GRIME- breaking news, gossip, slander, lies etc

That lyric is so not redundant it's stupid. Wiley's bars are very deep. It's a shame his album hasn't done better commercially but I don't think he gives a shit. He'll always be able to bang out tunes and feed himself. Wiley is always gonna be one step ahead of what people are buying...
