For when it all gets a bit too serious....

Thought I would drop this one on you all. It's the UK's daftest music forum. Ostensibly a about free partys & squat raves, it's really the unfolding story of a lost tribe of goalless & drug-damaged suburban youth and thier constant scatalogical bickering and petty beefs with one another...

Piece on pirate radio in Friday's Guardian

This was a full page article in the news section, page 3 or 5 I think - I'd link to it, but it's behind the Guardian's regestration service so it wont work. I thought it was one of the lamest, sloppiest things i've ever read in a serious newspaper. Basically regurgitating the same 2 arguments...

Moondog - Viking of 6th avenue

Anyone else feeling this? Excellent stuff IMO. Robert Wyatt's debt to him is obvious, both musically and follicly. Also shades of the Silver Apples going on.

    24hr party people Revelation!!

I avoided this film like the plague when it came out because it sounded like utter tish. They showed it on UK TV last night and I didnt have to work today, so I gave it a go - and it absolutely blew me away. especially the JD/ACR concert sequences. I've read truckloads of book about this scene...

Has anyone ever analysed their dreams?

...either as part of structured psychoanalysis or informally by themselves? Did you find it productive/interesting? I'm reading one of Colin Wilson's books on the paranormal at the moment, some of which is plausable, some not. I have my doubts about the relevence of dream analysis but as it's...

Thoughts, prompted by a tish John Peel biography

Read a John peel biography by Mick Wall over the weekend (actually on saturday eve waiting for Match Of The Day to come on). A shabby effort all round, no doubt slammed together to cash in on his death (it must have taken about a week to write - giveaways being the huge font size and endless...
