    Michael Pogo Kreiner - 'E-Magic Flute' (2006)

It's definitely a bit weird, but what surprised me was how accessible they were making it--none of it felt like showing off, it all flows seamlessly. . .

Various Artists - 'Le Tour du Monde, Volume 7' (2xLP, France - 1973)

I know not of what you speak, I picked this up at a shop in the south of France for a pittance, and sold it on eBay for quadruple digits, after ripping it to share here. . . :D

I know some of you would dig this. . . Give it a try?

    Michael Pogo Kreiner - 'E-Magic Flute' (2006)

Anyone familiar with this album? Absolute madness--truly end-of-history type stuff, for better or worse. Easy to want to say a 'Switched-On Bach' duly updated--but to my ears there's a lot more going on. In moments, one wants to dismiss it as a gimmick for tackling simply. . . everything...

Films you've seen recently and would unreservedly recommend:

So odd--I tried (in vain) to get my ladyfriend to watch 'THX 1138' immediately after we saw 'Wall-E,' too. Didn't really have a particular connection in mind, other than the general dystopian/utopian elements, and the high-calibre sound design. Disney, Pixar, I don't care--'Wall-E' was great...

Downloading the last few, planning on catching up tonight--look forward to it! Winding it up for good at 50?

Wire Charts 07 - reissues and comps

    You're ever so macho, sailor.

    Colin Newman

I like all of those except maybe the instrumental Fish one. I'm given to his tracks generally in Wire, so I prefer A-Z over most non-Newman Wire tracks. 'Commercial Suicide' was a nice change of pace, certainly better than what Wire would do thereafter.

Hands up if you don't 'get' Led Zep?

I dig the production on their cover of "When the Levee Breaks" but that's it.

    Karlheinz Stockhausen RIP

That's interesting information. But I wonder--was he known for being particularly racist, or simply as ignorant as his age/milieu/interests would tend to infer? The business about "post-African" and "African rhythms" sits a little weird with me in that interview about contemporary "sound...

    Various - The Somnambulist (1908-2007) | a dense mix of avant/electro/texture/beat

In the off chance anyone missed the time-limited download but might like this mix: I re-uploaded it at the request of a friend, so here's a link. http://www.sendspace.com/file/ms0mzx

    Devo

Definitely ups to the 'Hardcore Devo' series--much messier, uglier stuff there than what they're known for. But still dig the first few albums proper.

CHBB (Chris Haas & Beate Bartel) - 4 Cass. Eps 1981

Listening to these again. . . Now I *really* want to hear those '81 tracks, because I swear I remember them being just as insane.

CHBB (Chris Haas & Beate Bartel) - 4 Cass. Eps 1981

Haha--gave the link a try, and I didn't get porn, but I did get a fraudulent website on getting a U.S. greencard. Not sure what to think about that. . .

CHBB (Chris Haas & Beate Bartel) - 4 Cass. Eps 1981

I'm afraid I can't even fathom what the second part of this means, but I'm pretty sure I haven't been watching any porn--none that I know of is yet set to Stockhausen or Can ; ) Glad you're digging the tunes, in any case!

CHBB (Chris Haas & Beate Bartel) - 4 Cass. Eps 1981

Glad you dig them. "Neger Brauchen Keine Elektronik" seems the most relevant, today.

The Nova'billy reissue is fantastic! Wonderful blend of funk, avant-drone, "hillbilly fiddle". http://www.dustygroove.com/item.php?id=jry7j9256x
