Nice, and well timed. The season is nigh. Big, although the first album is hard to top.

That's more than obvious name-wise! I didn't really think of this, but yeah connecting the dots, the compilations, he attended dmz etc.

    Coldplay "sampling" Kraftwerk.

"As a rule, listening to other people's music is not an approved Kraftwerk activity. "Not really," Huetter says with a dry smile. "We listen to silence, and concentrate on making music. But of course, on this tour, we went to a lot of underground after-hours clubs. The South American techno vibe...

    Nicholas Roeg

I just watched BAD TIMING. Very good film. 'Mad is an expression I never use.' Roeg has ADINA in pre-production. 'A philosophical horror film that explores love, sex and death across the universe.' Interesting!

    Jamie Lidell

I liked his (current) live show but I never listen to the supercollider album (the first one), too freakish for a nice listening experience.

    Stravinsky

Le Sacre is sublime (both aesthetic category and judgement). The best version is Gergiev (conductor) with Kirov Orchestra on Philips - the wildest, heaviest rendering of this masterpiece.

    Is taking drugs immoral?

I think strictly speaking 'immoral' means bad 'mores', bad manners, so that would exclude thought per se, without actions. On the other hand, doing nothing is also an action...

    Is taking drugs immoral?

Actually I wasn't just talking about drug users but people in general. I put the '(want to)' in 'they don't (want to) know' i.e. there are people who have a vague idea of their complicity but don't want to see the truth in all its horrific detail. Many drug users probably fall into this...

    Is taking drugs immoral?

Yes its very ironic indeed, and this irony is exemplary for the current state of the world. What I think is that people currently are so cynical, numb and depoliticized that they don't (want to) see how the political is precisely in the details of everyday live, and that opening your eyes to...

    new Venetian Snares album 'Meathole'

Yeah the beats on Rossz were a little underwhelming but its a good album. Infolepsy has the best beats imo. Beats like on Doll are too wrecked for my liking, too much distortion. I'm hoping for an album with the darkness of Doll and the beats of Infolepsy.

I'd say it came from the Frankfurter Schule.

Who are the most 'important' acts of today?

I was going to say I haven't heard much from Lenky lately, then I found out about his new riddim Bubble Up. Did I miss something or did he do, after Dreamweaver, only remixes and exclusive production?
