    Dubstep

well I can't say I've heard much j-tek, a couple of sets, the first few releases (j-tek001 had a proper nice sounding cut on vinyl...digital files don't really do jungle/hardcore justice I guess)...I just thought "hardcore breaks" fit into your description better (i.e. nu skool breaks like)...

    Dubstep

don't you mean "hardcore breaks"? I thought some of the actual j-tek was pretty decent, esp. Outrage, Modular, Ricky Force & his initiative...Obviously they missed support from big names probably because nobody in dnb really felt like going 30 bpm slower to play this sort of stuff...the whole...

Denoir - 140BPM RHYTHM EXERCISE mix

Quick&fun overview of some of my favourite 140 bpm stuff, common ground being the tempo. Rhythm-wise, there's quite a lot of variation. Broken dubstep, hardcore/jungle, grime, electro, skweee, synth pop & more. Hope it makes a bit of sense. Any feedback is welcome tracklist: DMX Krew - Time...

    Funky/London/UK House

^^ thanks, I knew Id heard it before. Any release plans for this one? I kind of enjoyed Cooly's set that night although some of it was just generic "circle" stuff...Oneman, who played afterwards, actually dropped more funky tunes than she did; Pull It (instrumental ), Siegalizer, Get Low...

yup, it's up for preorder on juno: http://www.junodownload.com/products/set-the-tone-ep/1752171-02/ Gonna catch him djing in Amsterdam next month, should I expect any funky at all? The guy''s a big talent anyway, I'm really curious to see how his production style evolves

yeah that tune Andy posted didn't seem Fact at all to me...Illmana's Menace sound like a dark minimal bruk which is a good thing...also feeling that Naughty/Miss Fire joint, interesting groove in that one... 160/192 mp3s could be the new trend in funky marketing, remember the Miss Fire zips...

I loved the FaltyDL 12'' on Swamp...Mean Streets Part 1 in particular not really feeling the current Instra:mental/Boddika sound, way too retro...used to rate them for their d'n'b output which started off that Autonomic movement and still stands out between all the tasteful bandwagon jumper...
