Liberal Creationism, or: Yippee, It’s Bell-Curve Time Again!

Thanks for the loving response! I’ve been trying to get my head around this ethnicity vs. race thing of late. I think of ethnicity as the squemish man’s “race”. Didn’t we outline three possible definitions sometime earlier in this thread? From what I recall they looked something like this: Race...

Liberal Creationism, or: Yippee, It’s Bell-Curve Time Again!

And how would you go about doing that? Presumably by questioning ... Sounds like sophomoric deconstructionism to me. You may want to have another peek at that spread diagram.

Is this the end of the Reagan/Rove right?

Also, the GE is a whole different kettle of fish, what with the majority of the voters’ in the Democratic primaries being female, a pretty substantial percentage coming from ethnic minorities, etc. Wooing white, “patriotic,” ex-Bushites — now that’s a different story.

Is this the end of the Reagan/Rove right?

Yes, but it could well make an ugly comeback should Obama set his foot wrong somewhere between now and November 4th. I rest my case until I’ve seen Obama go aggro. The “angry black male” and all that.

New data. http://www.sciencemag.org/cgi/content/short/319/5866/1100 Human genetic diversity is shaped by both demographic and biological factors and has fundamental implications for understanding the genetic basis of diseases. We studied 938 unrelated individuals from 51 populations of the...

Is this the end of the Reagan/Rove right?

It’s called the Bradley Effect. Some claim the NH primary polls, which suggested a sweeping Obama victory, suffered from this. Although its presence in this race’s dynamic is far from clear.

Is Ron Paul a Republican Ralph Nader?

When Ron Paul was a guest on The View a couple of months ago, he elaborated on how his stance on abortion was consistent with libertarianism. Although admitting it was a delicate problem, he thought it evident that, in most instances, safeguarding the rights of the child in embryo was more...

Is Ron Paul a Republican Ralph Nader?

Paul has been asked this question repeatedly since launching his candidacy, and up until a month or so ago, he categorically denied having any such plans. The message of the day, however, is that he “doesn’t plan” running as a third party candidate, which suggests that he most likely will. So...

is "repoire" a word in the english language?

People’s not knowing that the word pronounced as ‘repoire’ (in General American) is spelled ‘rapport’. I was in the same camp once upon a time.

My 13 year old flatmate has played this on repeat over the last couple of months, so I have actually grown to detest it. Still, it’s an improvement on Green Day.

    HTML banned?!?!

OTM. And can we please have an open vote the next time someone faces a possible ban? I bet half of the time, people aren’t nearly as thin-skinned as some mods seem to believe.

Welcome back, Vimothy. All we need now is for Nomos to unban Hundredmillionlifetimes and we’ll have the merry-go-round back in spin in no time. I mean that in the best of ways. Hundredmillionlifetimes brought up an interesting point a couple of months ago. I didn’t reply to it then, but I have...

Like that would be a bad thing. Because you hate democracy? Casting a blank vote is all right by me, but politically conscious abstainers are the dregs of humanity.

    was i wrong about Vimothy?

The situation, not your belief, determines whether you are a contrarian or not. Ever heard of the term ‘preaching to the converted’? Nomadologist’s IQ is mighty impressive. If she moved here she would be the smartest person in Scandinavia. (The smartest Swede — allegedly the ‘third smartest...
