If you buy beats online (common practice with the likes of beatstars .com where the beat for huge hit "Old Town Road" was found) then you need an engineer to record your vocal.
Opted out of some live improvised music this week on the grounds that as their recorded "written" stuff is awful, taking a chance on an improvised performance being any good would be pretty stupid
I know of a normie guitarist in an indie rock band (who have released music on various "cool" record labels) who works for a London bank. Probably not uncommon in the music scenes of major world cities.
