'2 Bad' is more of the funky thing though isn't it? ('Bad' is still 140...although i guess that's being kind of pedantic...)
plenty of people doing housey stuff @ 140 pre 'Bad' (kode9 even)
pretty sure he coined the phrase, so take that for what you will...
i brought Joe to Minneapolis last month.
we had less then 20 paid.
dude still played like there were 2000 though!
it's literally impossible to say the word "dubstep" in america without someone bringing up skrillex...
i've...
it needed more labels 2 years ago...
whatever happened to "it's funky" & "urban ridims"?
there were a few other of those labels during that time like them that put out a few good things and then disappeared? was it a z audio folding thing issue?
got to see him live in the mainroom of First Avenue in MPLS to a pretty much sold out show and it was really good.
his cover of Anti War Dub (which was well over everyone's head) was phenomenal.
goth-trad as the "weaker" deep medi releases!?! you should be hung.
the newer ones i don't feel as much. not a big fan of v.i.v.e.k, im not into the slower tempo stuff either...but they're all still well produced and i think it's just getting harder to 'write' dubstep that sounds as fresh as...
her dj sets are wicked! tuned into her livestream yesterday and it was pretty sick stuff (she played a Jordan Knight tune, too)
but yeah agree on having difficulty in distinguishing her tunes. they're all mostly, really, really good. i'm always afraid to play them out though for some reason...
true.
that Calibre tune is just a DUB tune really (with more LFO). it's a cool song, but it goes no where. it's just the same loop for like 6 mins.
i think Rockwell does the half time thing really well. actually most of his output is really good.
not to mention it's really, really, really awful.
you don't see dBridge claiming he's invented a new genre, nor did Amit think he was doing something completely different 10 years ago (or Digital fwiw.)
