they pulled their mp3s off bleep a year ago. mala stated he regretted putting them up in the first place, i think.

yeah i like that one too...been feeling alot of stuff on that tip lately...the mid 130s seem to be pushing producers in some pretty cool directions (the freedom from being labeled "dubstep" helps id imagine) sorry for the spamage, but I'm selling some dubstep ATM if anyone is interested...

    Dubstep

yeah, the dubstep + hip hop mcing doesn't work imo. maybe joker could pull it off (but that would be grime then really...) he remixed that track with Dynamite MC awhile back that wasn't too dredful if i remember right. that mix cd that plastician did with all the US rappers was awful too. it...

dont think it gave any numbers in regards to the pressing. i cant imagine there only being 1000 pressed. they pressed that many of the grace jones single sided thing. i know dmz are all about not spreading themselves too thin, but surely they would be pressing up several thousand of these...

    James Blake

he makes up for his stupidness with the last line though: "I've often heard things streaming out of my son's Nintendo DS that sound like if you stuck one those staggering lurch-beats underneath it you'd be Boomkat-ready" gold imo.

    "Owning"

i've been saying this since high school and that was in the past century. maybe it's a stateside thing? dunno...nothing new really though?

supposedly he's got something forthcoming on Non:Plus, but who knows what tempo it's going to be at. i fucking want Boiler Suit to be released, but im not getting my hopes up. kode9 djkicks tracklist looks pretty damn hot though!

completely unrelated to doing blow... Benga played here in mpls a few months ago and about half way through his set his pants fell down to about his knees, and be continued on without pulling them up. twas pretty funny, as he basically mooned the crowd everytime he bent over to select a new...

saw kode9 again this past weekend. played loads of great funky then last half his set was grime & dubstep stuff...this is the second time i've seen him and both times he's played this tune that i dont know but is really fantastic. it's got some vocal sample that sounds like someone saying...

    Dubstep

D&B was at a time really popular, but now, not so much. Reprezent blew up over here, but after they faded out so did most of the listeners. The scene is pretty healthy still, I think, but it's definitely leveled out to a smaller, niche market. UK Garage was never big here at all. Most people...

YUP. when i was first playing it out a few years ago i was lucky to get 20 ppl to show up. there's a crew in my town doing lots of shows (like 3-4 month) and they get 300-400+ ppl to show up easily. 90% of the kids in attendence are 18-21 years old. and a majority of the headliners are the...

    Jay Electronica

you guys should really check out P.O.S. if you haven't. I think he's of a similar mindset, he goes into rock influenced stuff sometimes a bit too much, but lyrically he's solid and his beats are typically really great. on rhymesayers records.

    James Blake

i really like air & lack there of & the stop what you're doing remix, but the rest sounds messy to me and a lot of his stuff just doesn't come together in the right way. his sound pallete is really fantastic like others have said though. the milli & bills remixes were really terrible imo, they...

    Dubstep

not really ever seen him live, but from the vids & few radio mixes i always thought coki just played stuff from the top and let it roll, most if not all of his tunes only have like 16/32 bar intros... lol @ caspa dropping hyph mngo what was the DMZ selection on the night? anything new?

    Dubstep

anyone else catch the youtube clip of GQ saying "if it weren't for trojan there'd be no dubstep!" l o l . strange too that goldie & headz would pick Caspa to go up against DMZ. you didn't see DMZ getting Remarc to clash. kinda defeats the purpose. seems the headz camp couldn't handle Pokes...

    Dubstep

im pretty sure dbridge & instramental weren't calling it slowed down dnb. i think they've been supporters for a while now. id also hardly say it's the new dnb sound. there's probably 3-4 labels that are even releasing this stuff and i dont think too many big djs are even playing it. and...

rolling back to the future garage/post-dubstep/alt-funkstep/intelli-2step etc thread

The thread has me more confused then ever. I've kind of always thought/felt that the genre classifications were more for Jurnos/NME to hype something for three weeks and move on and that we (the djs/producers/listners) didn't give a shit about if some was genre X or Q or whatever silly title...
