    Best Of 2013 Lists

Yeah, Austerity Dogs is an awesome record. (You can listen/buy here: http://sleafordmods.bandcamp.com/album/austerity-dogs) The other vocal album I've played loads this year is the Teho Teardo & Blixa Bargeld 'Still Smiling' one, which is probably my fav. of the year. Otherwise, nearly all...

    Increasing Physical Energy Levels

Oh, yeah- as you get into going to the gym/doing more exercise, you do get more energy anyway. Just force yourself to go even when you don't want to. I've joined a gym for winter too, for what it's worth.

    Increasing Physical Energy Levels

You can cycle safely in Oxford all year! It never gets too cold, main roads are wide, although Cowley Road is now a bizarre obstacle course designed by a madman, and there is a critical mass of cyclists, which means that car drivers are aware that students on bikes could lurch in front of them...

    Increasing Physical Energy Levels

Start doing ridiculous amounts of exercise and then use sitting down all day as recovery.

No time, so not bothering until winter sets in. RLLMUK are impressed though, which is a good sign. Loved and finished 4.

Respect on the 100. Re: changing stuff, about a month ago I moved my saddle back and stupidly didn't mark the original position. I'm still trying to get it comfortable again. We drove up Tourmalet last year and that alone was tiring. Really beautiful though. All your TTing will stand you in...

Time for a bit of pre-Le Tour hype, yeah? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-23028684 GC should be more competitive than last year. Lots of mountains. Froome for Yellow, Cav for Green*, Quintana for Polka Dot. *Sorry Peter... <iframe width="560" height="315"...

One of my LBSs has an R838 with £450 off and it is a beauty. I think the carbon layout might be different than the Ribble, but essentially it is a generic frame re-badged by De Rosa's UK Distro afaic. Still very tempted, but I think it's too small and I daren't test ride it in case I buy it in a...

Respect on getting your son on such a nice machine at a young age! I'm back on my alu De Rosa and am loving it. My work mate who used to race on the Belgian crit circuit completely poo-pooed my suggestions of carbon or Ti and just said 'get Italian steel', so I might start having a look for a...

    Cycling

That Saturday Kitchen man has stated something about wanting to run cyclists off the road in the past. On-going repair issues with bike has planted the idea of getting a new one. Having conflicting nightly dreams of riding hard up mountains on a carbon De Rosa followed by cruising country...

    Definitive UK Curry House Throwdown

Whilst on an East Midlands tip, if you want the worst curry house in the UK, go to Sapna's (aka Scrapna's, due to the likelihood of a fight breaking out) in Nottingham.

    Definitive UK Curry House Throwdown

Bobby's was the place to go about 17 years ago, although Golden Mile / Belgrave Road always seemed to be more about sweets, saris and gold more than savoury food at that time. We used to go to a very good Nepalese restaurant in Brum, but rarely hit the Balti Triangle, because we were not real...

    Definitive UK Curry House Throwdown

Hansa's in Leeds is very good, but not as nice as Prashad, although i've not been since it moved (10 years ago it was formica, then it got Gordon Ramsey'ed). Many think it has lost its charm over the years, but the food was still aces when I last went- starter platter and dosa's rule. There are...

    Music 2013

Listened to the first 3 hours or so last night. Very good it was too. Will listen for a bit tonight also. Exai is great as well. Didn't think I'd be listening to Ae post LP5, but this has got me right back into them. Really rewards concentrated listening on a good stereo/ headphones., which is...

Savile was of course a cycling fan and they covered up for years, so the protection of Armstrong from himself is to be expected. Shame on you BBC.

Nicole Cooke: After the Festina tour in 1998 it was obvious to everyone who followed the sport that drugs were endemic. Like many, I hoped I could win races clean and that things would improve in that dark world as my career progressed. We were all told in 1999 that testing was now improved...
