Acoustics are a difficult thing to do a crash course in - you start hitting the nasty maths pretty quickly. I have friends who have done masters degrees in this stuff.
There's a lot of bumf on the net about acoustics, a lot of it is of questionable use and needs to be read with skepticism...
President George Bush marked the end of The Wire by visiting the set of s2 yesterday...
...although his pledge to stimulate the economy by "getting a re-up on that good package" met with confusion on Wall St.
Obama needs to start looking for a dull, uncontroversial running mate who's strong on policy, particularly economic policy.
Then he can do the 'hope' thing without looking like a lightweight. Plus if mccain gets nailed on economic policy for 6 months, from someone who knows what thy're talking...
He's the best techno DJ of them all IMHO.
His set at Lost in 2003 was the best thing I've ever heard in a club, people were looking at each other like 'f&%£ me this is good...'.
Two friends of mine were DJing at a party ages ago (I wasn't there to see this unfortunately). Some cock insisted on MCing over them, so they told him that thier names were DJ Afterbirth and Sergeant Sound.
So he MC'd tirelessly all night with things like 'sounds of the sergeant, sergeant...
I've never heard of this album before but it sounds ace.
How strange... in the early 80s, musicians could be as arty and conceptual as they wanted and still sell bucketloads of records. Now bands are shameless commercial whores and they still can't shift jack shit. I bet a lot of NME bands...
Following Barnsley's epic victory over Chelsea in the FA Cup, south Yorkshire exploded into a spontaneous disco party that is only now just beginning to subside. Public services were overwhelmed as citizens poured onto the streets clutching towels and beach balls, demanding balearic electro-funk...
I've heard that eye contact superstition before. While I don't buy it literally, it did make me realise that I'm really bad at maintaining eye contact with people during salutations. I usually break eye contact with people when saying goodbye to them, and I didn't realise how rude it looks until...
Is this reissue under a different publisher to the original? I think Simon changed publishers between the original Energy Flash and RIUASA.
That new cover is pretty bad though
I go running, swimming or climbing 3 or 4 times a week - I like to ring the changes as they're all good for different things.
Running is probably my favorite. Climbing is something I've taken up quite recently, great for developing the bodys upper muscles and general sense of balance. It's a...
When I went to Ghana the preferred gesture was a normal handshake, followed by swiftly removing the hand and clicking your fingers on the other's fingertips as you do so. I didn't even attempt this because it seems like a ridiculously white negro thing for me to do, even if I could have done it...
Still quite a lot of happy hardcore up here in Sheffield. There's a big 3000 person hardcore event coming up which I've been offered a free ticket for, because someone I know works for one of the labels being represented. I don't know if I've got the guts to go though, might have to get pretty...
I bought that Moog album of Debussy pieces that Tomita did the other day actually.
I'm lucky to have a few friends who are knowledgable about classical so I usually pick thier brains... but you can get very good paperback guides from most new and s/h bookshops that break down the rough eras...
