who's old belief is that? sediment in the bottle means that it is bottle conditioned and is a live product like cask ale. even boring old traditionalists, who think any kind of beer over 4 percent is crazy and that fuggles and golding are the only hops, will tell you that bottle conditioned beer...

code black is a weird one. i've had it from a cask on three or four sepperate occasions and it has tasted very different each time. first couple of times it was very well balanced in terms of hoppiness and malts, but the other two times it basically tasted like malteasers. i don't know if it...

a black ipa is basically an ipa made with the type of malts you might normally use for a stout. i don't think it's a particularly ridiculous name really, not sure what else you would want to call it? anyway, raven is a good one!

coffee ipas are just...... crap. the two flavours do not belong or work together at all. same goes for chocolate ipas. just really stupid, doesn't work.

the standard rodenbach is ok, but the grand cru one is 5 million times better. so nice.

i'm from newcastle and beers here range from about £2.90 for your standard 3.8 pale ale to £4 for something strong / interesting. more for keg beers.

i never cook with those tins of mackerel or sardines, the smell is repulsive. much prefere using them in a salad or just in a sandwhich. the only tinned fish i cook with is anchovies.

i think buxton axe edge is the best beer i've had all year. especially good from a cask but the bottles are great too.

there is a good amount of top beer coming out of italy at the minute. it's not exactly super hot, but it's warmer than the north east of england. oh america is hot too, in places!
