    “Inglourious Basterds” soundtrack

i am a big fan of Quentin Tarantino soundtracks and his tasty way to recycle old stuff . the list for IB : source as expected Tarantino rips off a lot of Morricone , features classic scores , fuzz themes (1:50) and some german nazi schlager . but how possibly could a track like “ Cat People...

    Fleetwood Mac

i am not a read-whole-thread-guy , but i am almost sure nobody mentioned " Then play on" yet , imo the most beautiful work of FM in songwriting/arrangement terms . to make it short : this very album is the " Pet Sounds " in FM's catalogue .

    Good tunes by "bad" artists

might come to mind , that people shitcan Yusuf because of his second name . the three mentioned albums are shiny tea party folk classics .

    Good tunes by "bad" artists

totally agree . must have heard “ Massachusetts “ more than hundred times , unintentionally on the radio , at parties , etc . anytime this song appears i'd stop conversation or whatever i’m involved in , pay full attention to the magically 30 seconds right before the refrain trashes in . the...

    Hippie nonsense

“End of the Game” by Peter Green . there is not a single song on this album , just excerpts from greasy jams with a massive hippie vibe, modal guitar wah noodling to excess . very nice . as for the kraut stuff : Ash Ra Tempel’s debut album is a psyched out pit . and , of course , Hairy Chapter...

    Hippie nonsense

Amon Düül II is totally overrated , like ca. 50% of “Krautrocksampler” . but if it comes down to decent hippie vibes in a sitting-stoned-in-a-circle-manner “Paradieswärts Düül” by Amon Düül has its moments .

    Yacht-disco thread

i am a sucker for Herb Alpert’s trumpet in "Rise" , same yacht quality as the sax in "Baker Street" . Hall & Oates are without any doubt aspirants for the yacht catalogue , but i am not sure which track would fit . "Method of Modern Love" ?

ID unknown krautgoth tune (Bad Saints?)

the hoax is pretending a false release / recording date , putting the music in an inaccurate historically context to make it shine . anybody can write some strokes on a white label . besides , the audio-track sounds like a tape transfer without any vinyl vibe . is this music really on 7"...

ID unknown krautgoth tune (Bad Saints?)

must be a hoax , at least the production year 1972 is impossible . sounds like 80s home recording , could have been produced in any cellar from Birmingham to Berlin . the spoken intro of track 1 sounds german (but actually makes no sense), bass line is Neu!ish . nice try , though .

    Yacht-disco thread

yacht drone call me insane , but thin tanned dude Bowie nailed the first yacht blues/yacht disco fusion with "Let’s Dance" . sweaty balls-dirt Hendrix-licks courtesy by Stevie Ray Vaughn doesn’t really fit into slick programmed Nile Rogers-disco , but zowiebowie! , it works . most probably...

right , generally sucks , but Deodato's Zarathustra-thing is big time , should not have been missed at any yacht freak out .

    Yacht-disco thread

true , from fuzztone-Cream-jazz into easy listening , what a career . yacht-blues started more or less with the comeback of lsd-wrecked Peter Green in 1979 . @ topic Narada Michael Walden , who used to show up as super-virtuoso-animal-drummer on Mahavishnu Orchestra's self-indulgent albums...
