Hey, I love black music but modern R&B vocals really turn me off. They've already taken over grime and I'm not looking foward to the idea that the same thing might happen to dubstep.
It would be nice if it did - I don't see anything wrong with the sound spreading to new places. But the US is a hard market to crack and I honestly wouldn't be too bothered if grime didn't make it here.
What do hip-hop artists think of grime? I mean, is grime creeping in as an influence to them?
Yeah, I forgot about Eye of the Tiger. Love the production and I LOVE WD25 but there's way too much grime n' b nonsense on there. I thought Shyam's tracks were kinda alright but the rest of the stuff doesn't sit well with me at all.
Stuff like Aim High, Vol. 2 and the RWD mixtape immediately come to mind. I've also grown to like JME's Boy Better Know. Any other mixtapes you could call great?
