GRIME- breaking news, gossip, slander, lies etc

I've only heard Brackles' remix but I like it. At the beginning I can see what you mean about bars and tune not quite fitting but after about a minute it all seems to click.

I know people have said similar things about him before but I was just listening to the Dubstep Warz mix for the first time in about 2 years and I'd never quite appreciated how 'out-there' some of Skream's tunes are/were. Those bleepy 'wonky' synths in Tapped and Almighty Father remix and the...

I went to one before Christmas with Dexplicit and it didn't get too ridiculously rammed.

I've just bought a few Karizma tunes off Juno if anyone's interested. Kaytonik EP The Damn Thing/Tech This Out Part 2 Groove A'Kordingly Dunno if they're by any means his best but they are pretty gully! And obviously samples are on there too.

On a lighter note, I think Jace Clayton has hit the nail on the head. "If you haven’t heard the term (HCC), cease reading now & save yourself some mental space." If only I had this option :slanted:

I don't know how much it is about the regular radio shows these days. Ruffage Sessions on Sub FM, Blackdown & Dusk, Anti-Social and Chef/LD on Rinse are all routinely brilliant. And you could do a lot worse than check out Elgato, Unsettla/Wiggle Baron and Whistla on Sub FM too. But recently my...

Infinity is Now has to be my favourite Pev tune. I can definitely appreciate the way he seems to be surely and definitively honing his sound, seemingly chiselling away at each element, revealing new subtleties and getting closer to some sort of 'essence'. But, at the same time, I love the...

With regards to Alex Sushon's comments, I think people are reading a bit too much in to it. He was saying that a lot of producers wouldn't particularly care about the HCC not that they wouldn't be influenced in some way by jungle et al. I don't see how it should be controversial to suggest that...

They definitely not opening it? Last year's unannounced sets down there were the best thing on. Oneman and Plasticman grime set were sick. Missed Appleblim & Shackleton though. There will definitely be a lot of disappointed people if its just the main room.

Pinch vs Joker could be interesting as well. Dark half-steppy beats vs. colourful synths (I realise those are pretty poor descriptions) LOL. Interesting how they've put on whole line-ups in the past few months catering for the smokers crew ;)

No must be the same guy. I know he's produced a few beats. And he's tight with Anti-Social so would make sense that he's got something forthcoming on 'Break The Habit'. Can't say he's one of my favourite MCs...

Exactly this. Its impossible to deny that in some ways today's dubstep doesn't seem to sound that similar to the way it did back in, say, 05 but, to me and plenty of others, its still dubstep. Its always covered quite a broad swathe of styles and I think the assertion that dubstep is simply...

The margins getting distorted are what I'm finding so exciting at the moment and it seems to be happening across the board. Indeed, a lot of people seem to have been discussing this recently. It's getting harder to provide a coherent narrative but when some of the music being produced is so...

Wicked. The Wiley and D Double volumes are absolutely sick. Looking forward to checking the Slew Dem. On the behalf of all lazy grime fans, big up! And keep 'em coming.

He has. Of 'Spliff Head'. Sounded amazing when I heard it the other night. Think it might well be coming out on SJ but not 100% sure on that

Haha nothing like a bit of tabloid-kneejerk-hysteria exposure on a national exposure. Just a shame that they probably won't get the album out for another two years and miss all the free publicity ;)
