Out of curiousity, what's a rebore?

I'm listening to Underground Volume 1 now, and it's good, and kind of sounds like what I always hope crunk is going to sound like, whereas instead it's just some guy shouting about his pimp cup over a beat that sounds like a ringtone.

Isn't that definition correct, tho? 2 step isn't in 4/4 is it? Isn't that why it's called 2 step? And 4x4, as I understand it, is a new derivation of garage, rather than just 4/4 house or techno of old.

First question - am I correct in thinking that it's "four to four" rather than "four by four", or any other way that you might say it? Second question - where can I hear it? Any mixes or live streams on-line, or maybe a comp/mix I could seek out on torrents. Any info appreciated.

I'm liking the Burial album a lot right now, and I notice in the interview with him posted here that he namechecks El-B as a producer he likes. Anyone offer any suggestions on what to check out by El-B or other info? Is it all on 12"s, or any mixes/comps?

I thought when I heard it that the first half sounded like the return of melodic hardcore punk, and reminded me of Snuff, second half was mid-nineties Evening Session bog-standard indie. Dunno about Stump; they're maybe closer to Bogshed.

There's some stuff in David Toop's Rap Attack that says basically that. There were American 'personality jocks' who would do manic spoken bits in between records on rnb/jazz stations, with nutty catch phrases, and some visiting Jamaicans are reckoned to have brought the style back with them.
