His voice isn't as compelling as Skeng's (who remarkably has near a 100% hit rate) but Jahshii's arrival has also been pretty exciting

Meek Mill's Uptown Vibes, though apparently it's from a sample pack

Great 6ixx picks @Benny B. There was a period where that crew put out a long streak of mediocre, samey sounding stuff that soured me on them a little. But I especially like Chronic Law and that Organ Trade is excellent. Not much to contribute myself, but I like this Jahvillani "Wicked & bad"...

My enthusiasm for Skilli has definitely waned. The last third wasn't very good, but to be fair, I never expect dancehall albums to be particularly strong

Haha not sure I even registered that I'm liking the middle third of the Skilli more, but I'm finding myself listening to the production and tuning him out. That might be preferable to the American voices, which really punch through in a bad way

New Skeng & Intence, very good: I've just started the new Skilli album. Starts kind of rough, but Thee Most Power is a bit like Third Eye Foundation doing drill (in a good way)

questions you are dying to ask but are too scared to b/c of music nerd cred?

Maybe the original source will clarify things? My guess: you might refer to someone who's flirting with you with no intention of moving things to the next stage as half-stepping. This girl is so cold that it's a full climb

That's pretty hilarious but also kind of good? I also liked Yo! though.

That is a bit surprising. It sounds built for multiple versions, and surely Stadic has the connections. Not sure you could improve on Vaccine for classic dancehall zeitgeist capture though Thanks for "pungi" btw. I had no idea what to call that sound

I usually open videos in a tab and then do something else, so I often miss how horrific they are. I really pissed someone off once telling them to watch a Sikka Rymes video I'd not viewed myself that turned out to be a couple minutes of graphic torture

Just speculating here, but the percentage of authors who actually make money from sales of their books could be less than 1

    Neon Screams!

The questionnaire was standard procedure when I worked at a university press in the 00s. I assume things have only gotten more dire in that world, and I also assume the trade presses are now largely in the same boat Not sure about print runs these days, but they were steadily declining back...

obviously if you're (even relatively) famous it's different, but for a first-time author with basically zero media profile... I would be curious to know how many copies they printed the main tool for a publicist for a book like this is a questionnaire you make the author fill out where they...

Huh that's interesting, did Sony put that out officially? I've had this Jahvillani tune in my head lately, don't think it was posted yet:
