Seem to have heard bits of all these records on FAB R1. All seem shite to me. Special mention for shiteness goes to the Gue....cant spell.. all thats bad about 'indie' music. Best just to pretend that the Mercury Music prize doesn't exist. I much prefer the Brits. Honestly dishonest.

Went to night in Brixton about a year ago. Expected nice white m/c crowd but lots of gangster types. Music was 'funky house' i think. Loads of early nineties Strictly stuff like Deep inside and Critical. Mainly vocals rather than dubs. Loads of bubbly and weed. A bit dull and smug (and old).

Seems strange that only a few years ago the shops were full of this stuff at knockdown prices. I picked up a lot of Shut up and dance for a pound a go.
Second hand dance record prices seem really driven by micro trends.
