Jammer, D Double E and Ears spitting over Swishahouse in NYC - VIDEO!!!

d double's flow doesn't fit with that hip hop tempo. ears seems more adaptable. did anyone check that thread on the fwd forums about MCs that can flow over both hiphop and grime tempos? it's seriously a challenge to be that flexible.. harum scarum

Have you ever heard something so good it made you cry?

This has happened to me a bunch of times in a live setting when everything is "clicking" and it seems like we are reaching some new collective understanding. The only single track that comes to mind right now is Nas "One Mic." Something about the "i shot back / fuck gettin hit / this my hood /...

Who's reaching the DEE/Ears/Jammer event tonight in NYC?

I'll get photos back tomorrow and post a link. There were mad cameras up on that show.. at the outset, more cams than mics. At least 3 video cameras and many more still photographers. It was more like a press conference than a rave.

Who's reaching the DEE/Ears/Jammer event tonight in NYC?

Yeah ~12. You got there as things started to really pop! Listening to the records from last night.. what's up with Black Ops? "Champagne Hoe's" has a ridic beat but the lyrics feel like a half-assed attempt at a US rap topic.

Who's reaching the DEE/Ears/Jammer event tonight in NYC?

I was trying to keep my expectations low so I was fully prepared to be let down. However, it was definitely a good show with potential for improvement. The first half of the performance felt like a blind date with both performers and audience visibly self-concious. Once things started to...

    Grime on vinyl..

Finally got my hands on some non-wiley/diz grime vinyl and it's like I am hearing this music for the first time. I had no idea how how how BIG the bass on forward really is. Plus, the b-side to RD's "let it out" is seriously great.. so busy and hectic. I like to imagine mp3 being less lossy...

    More MIA

My only real issue with MIA is that miauk.com charged my credit card back in January but I have yet to see the vinyl in my mailbox!

    More MIA

It's getting into US Weekly (ummm... Mirror?) territory to discuss sex & romance between dip and mia. I still haven't heard the MIA album but several folks mentioned that the baile connection is all but non-existent as it was one of Diplo's contributions to the PFT mixtape.

    r&b

Don't forget R Kelly's Sex in the Kitchen! The Amerie track hooked me when I first got it but I change the station when it comes on lately. In rewinds, I'm all about Aaliyah's "Miss You" lately for a variety of reasons.

    More MIA

'Those who champion her new efforts haven't been turned off to grime/dancehall/etc. - they have not been exposed to it.' This is so patronising! I was unclear. I meant to indict those MIA supporters who seem to irritate Diss. posters. Does this require full disclosure? I totally bumped the...

Dear PitchforkMedia, You are really freaking me out (Re. Ruff Sqwad)

Grime people: The next time you look to our shores, throw on "Crunk Music" or "Put Your Hood Up" at +8 and go nuts. on dogs, truer words never spoken! although, that quick take of aaliyah's "miss you" on the RD creeper mixtape is tiighhht.

    More MIA

i'm one of a type [...] of person who are incredibly uncomfortable with who they are, or at least tries to figure out ways of being that arent contradictory I believe this to be the crux of the MIA debate. Those who champion her new efforts haven't been turned off to grime/dancehall/etc. -...
