GRIME- breaking news, gossip, slander, lies etc

LOL@arranging a contract for Dirty Canvas bookings. Do you people have any idea how little money is involved and how much work Dave and Magic put in already to it? And even with a contract....ould would they do if someone doesn't turn up? Not pay them? They don't get paid unless they turn up...

GRIME- breaking news, gossip, slander, lies etc

Acts not turning up and bring ins MCs hogging the mic are unfortunate and also not really something the promoters can do anything about. Hopefully with some creative booking the night can continue to be a positive

    UKG vs UKG vs UKG

Stanton Warriors made their name doing 4/4 mixes for Tuff Jams label, so them doing "Garage" collabs isn't too far fetched

ok, so i've been liking a few bits of dubstep lately

    I'll fetch the holy water....

    UKG vs UKG vs UKG

Bassline is huge. Like Dubstep it is much bigger in terms of actual club nights and out put than Grime, but like Dubstep a lot of it I just don't really get. I had a big argument on RWD because to me nearly all of the 4/4 bassline stuff sounds like a knock off of Bullacake by Dexplicit or...

    Woebot on funky house

Why does music ALWAYS have to have meaning? I'd rather read literature for insightful meaning. It's generally of a higher standard. Music is more often than not functional as entertainment. So entertain me.

If you got sent the press release you will see how important my support was to the project.

GRIME- breaking news, gossip, slander, lies etc

It's built by Skepta as his own Grime interpretation of a live band at Sting playing a rhythm track for Ninjaman to destroy. And that is why all of the versions have the MCs spitting their biggest lyrics and taking the forward. I would play the aftershock album but I haven't been sent a copy...

    Woebot on funky house

Incorrect. There are plenty of females at Grime events such as Sidewinders or Eskimo Dances when they happen. They just don't happen enough for them to become habitual club destinations. House events of some description will be happening still when cockroaches rule the earth, so of course House...

    Trim - Soulfood

Which ep is that? Meridian records? I'm not familiar. And Skepta and JME have some fantastic beats. I think they wholeheartedly deserve their production credits

Chronic - Bumbahclart Badman is a Skepta production Garna has 2 EPs. The Magic Circle ep is tough. I like the title track a lot. I am repressing the Skepta and JME EP, should be in stores on a label this saturday for £5 I pressed up a few promos of a JME & Trigz instrumental EP on Boy Better...

hadouken / problem of appropriation / hot topic MERGED

I appreciate anyone who congregates in an enclosed space and chooses to listen to our music. And polz, if all I were doing were sitting in my house voicing my feelings of discontent through the internet "Worst.Band.Ever!" then fair enough. But I am not, and neither are many other organised...

hadouken / problem of appropriation / hot topic MERGED

Asking huge sums for appearance fees? Maybe if you look to book someone in a major deal yes. Maybe if you look to book someone through elasticartists who are a very big agency. I personally play at Dirty Canvas for travel expenses. I did Love Music Hate Racism at Fabric for the same. As did ALL...

hadouken / problem of appropriation / hot topic MERGED

Polz... what are you suggesting? You contradicted yourself about 5 times without proffering an actual suggestion to solve the issue of Grime music being ripped off, labelled something else and sold on without any recognition for the pioneers of the sound.....

hadouken / problem of appropriation / hot topic MERGED

Good for Grime how? They are marketed as "Nu-Rave", there is no re-direction of listeners to follow up their new found love of Hadouken by checking out the Grime scene.

I consider Kano a successful artist. I wouldn't say he is a worldwide act. Dizzee is just about. Dizzee has outsold Kano by a long way as well. But Kano is successful. He outsold everyone else but Dizzee.
