What pre-jungle hardkore sounds should i check out?

Twist had the most fantastic website up for a short period of time. He had rips of tons of primo labels - I got most early Moving Shadows and Reinforced, along with various Whitehouse, Production House and more off there before he took them down. I also bought a couple of mint Philly Blunts...

DUBSTEP- breaking news, gossip, slander, lies etc

I'm curious to know what Horsepower Productions are up to now. Anyone shed any light on that?

    Reactable: tabletop music interface

That's pretty awesome. Granted, it's not terribly likely to be used to create a musical masterpiece, but it looks like massive fun. I'd love to have a go.

Jungle/Drum & Bass - Breaking News, gossip, commentary, etc

I'm really, really loving Set the World on Fire at the moment. It's kind of retro, harking back to the blissful 94 styles, before atmos got all smoothed out and bland. Gorgeous!

isn't MySpace the Next Big Thing?

I'm not sure there is one. 52% of MySpace users are over 35. I agree, but it is only slightly - it's a great free tool for getting your music out there, but as swears says, it's just a medium

    the hardcore continuum

Sorry, I thought I linked to it, but I fucked it up. It's there now. The dissensus law? Too many words. It's as sound as any wacky internet law I suppose.

    the hardcore continuum

There's a wikipedia page dedicated to made up laws, albeit named after people: edit: oops http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_adages_named_after_people

DUBSTEP- breaking news, gossip, slander, lies etc

The number 1 reason I like minimal techno is because it's funky as hell. Try some Crackhaus stuff.

DUBSTEP- breaking news, gossip, slander, lies etc

Nope, but i'd love to hear it. I don't have nearly enough minimal stuff to do a 'proper' mix of it, either. Someone get busy and knock one up, eh? That sounds kind of sweet, really - I do love to be surprised behind the decks.

DUBSTEP- breaking news, gossip, slander, lies etc

It seems a bit of a no brainer to me - would it be terribly boastful to claim I was doing it a couple of years ago? I don't think so, i'm sure plenty of people have been at that kind of thing for a while. There's already clearly influence from minimal -> dubstep anyway...

    the hardcore continuum

It's a rough sketch, not the Gospel. You'd end up with every genre under the sun if you were looking at all influences / directions / cul de sacs. You should probably include Speed Garage, Happy Hardcore, Belgian Hardcore etc etc Maybe we should get Pete Frame on the job?

    the hardcore continuum

hardcore->jungle->DnB->2step->Grime/dubstep It's a UK thing like Reggae is Jamaican. Yeah, there's tons of non-Jamaican reggae, but it wouldn't exist without Jamaica. You know this anyway. Are you trying to make some kind of point?

Researchers find way to improve musical performance

Fascinating stuff. I'm particularly interested in the process of the training - it's a video game played with sensors attached to your head, but how does one 'Learn' how to operate it? Is it as simple as thinking 'Left' when you need to go left? Or is it a different kind of thought input? I know...

    Really Fantastic Article

Broadsheet journo in blinkered, crap article SHOCKER. He's a dope, but there's plenty of dopes out there. Why bother listening to their crap? Having said that, it is a bit of a shame, I generally like the Guardian, so it would be nice to read some decent music coverage in it. Also I have the...

    Flash clubbing - Liverpool street

I'd be torn - one part of me would want to cause hipster mass murder, the other thinks it's a pretty sweet idea, and would stand at the back nodding furtively. Either way, no better place for it. Liverpool St is a one of my favourite buildings in London. Great video at the link btw, i'm...

    Rhythm and Sound

It was me, and i'd prefer if you didn't. I feel pretty bad about even having it up here, but it's just so damn good. The link should still be on dissensus somewhere, if someone on here wants to dig it out.
